New modeling method of spiral bevel gears with spherical involute based on CATIA

SPIE Proceedings, 2010
Based on the generating principle of generating line of spiral bevel gears with spherical involute, a new method for building the model of spiral bevel gears with spherical involute is presented by utilizing the modules of part design, assembly design and kinematic simulation in CATIA.

Mathematical Model of a Ring-Involute-Teeth Spherical Gear with a Double Degree of Freedom

International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2002
A simple procedure using gear theory for a family of rack cutters to determine the profile of a spherical gear of the ring-involute-teeth type, with a double degree of freedom, is presented. The analytical profile of the spherical gear can be obtained by the following two steps.

Spherical involute bevel gear system mesh stiffness calculation using analytical, FEM, and experimental approaches

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science
The spherical involute is one of the most important profiles used in bevel gear design. Spherical involute bevel gears have excellent features, such as insensitive to shaft angle variations, low sensitivity to transmission errors, and favorable wear conditions compared to planar involute bevel gears.

Research on the Process of Ring-Involute Tooth Spherical Gear Based on Rapid Prototyping Processing

Key Engineering Materials, 2015
The ring-involute tooth spherical gear with two degrees of freedom is considered as the research object. Through the combination of theory and experiment, a further study is conducted on it. According to the theory of rapid prototyping, comprehensive consideration of the ring-involute teeth spherical gear tooth profile surface forming principle and ...

Study on the generation of spiral bevel gears with spherical involute tooth profile by the tracing line

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 2011
In this article, a new gear generating method for the spiral bevel gear with spherical involutes tooth curves was proposed. It was analysed that the tooth flank with cone-spiral involute surface could be formed by the space trajectory of a straight line. The straight line was named as a tracing line.

Using an Imaginary Planar Rack Cutter to Create a Spherical Gear Pair with Continue Involute Teeth

Arabian Journal for Science and Engineering, 2017
This paper presents an imaginary planar rack cutter having two parameters of motion to create a spherical gear pair with two degrees of freedom. The working region of the imaginary planar rack cutter is that of symmetrical straight lines. The relationship between the coordinate system of the imaginary planar rack cutter and that of the spherical gear ...
