Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Mathematical Description of a Flexible Connection of Links and its Applications in Modeling the Joints of Spatial Linkage Mechanisms

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures
The general mathematical model of a flexible connection of links by means of spring-damping elements is presented in the paper. The formalism of homogeneous transformation matrices is used to derive formulas for the energy of spring deformation and the ...

Reconstruction of the two-dimensional gravitational potential of galaxy clusters from X-ray and Sunyaev-Zel'dovich measurements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The mass of galaxy clusters is not a direct observable, nonetheless it is commonly used to probe cosmological models. Based on the combination of all main cluster observables, that is, the X-ray emission, the thermal Sunyaev-Zel'dovich (SZ) signal, the ...

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Efficient computation of motion error of parallel robots with joint clearances based on joint force model

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2018
This paper proposes a method to compute positioning error of a parallel mechanism having passive spherical joints with clearances in motion without numerical integration nor iterative calculation.

Improving the performance of human hip implants by improving the processing quality and geometric accuracy of their spherical surfaces

open access: yesMechanics and Advanced Technologies, 2020
In view of the fact that the endo-prosthesis heads of human hip-joint are operated in extreme conditions, in respect of load, the selection of corresponding material and also increase of precision and quality of machining of spherical surfaces is rather ...

Hollow spherical rotors fabricated by electroplating [PDF]

open access: yes, 1966
Equatorial bands are fabricated to provide a locating fit for the hemispheres of hollow spherical rotors which are then jointed by electroplating.

Joint Planck and WMAP CMB Map Reconstruction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We present a novel estimate of the cosmological microwave background (CMB) map by combining the two latest full-sky microwave surveys: WMAP nine-year and Planck PR1.

RaMBat: Accurate identification of medulloblastoma subtypes from diverse data sources with severe batch effects

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
To integrate multiple transcriptomics data with severe batch effects for identifying MB subtypes, we developed a novel and accurate computational method named RaMBat, which leveraged subtype‐specific gene expression ranking information instead of absolute gene expression levels to address batch effects of diverse data sources.
