Determination of the physicomechanical characteristics of black chickpea grains

open access: yesJournal of New Results in Science, 2022
In this study, some physicomechanical characteristics of black chickpea grains, which have rich content, were investigated. Dimensional and volumetric properties, colour characteristics, and frictional and mechanical properties were examined within the ...

Understanding, Testing, and Relaxing Sphericity of Repeated Measures ANOVA with Manifest and Latent Variables Using SEM

open access: yesMethodology, 2023
This article demonstrates how to perform univariate repeated measures ANOVA (U-RM-ANOVA) as a special case of structural equation models (SEMs). In the literature, sphericity is usually defined in terms of variances of pairwise differences of within ...

Spherical Rectangles [PDF]

open access: yesArnold Mathematical Journal, 2016
We study spherical quadrilaterals whose angles are odd multiples of pi/2, and the equivalent accessory parameter problem for the Heun equation. We obtain a classification of these quadrilaterals up to isometry. For given angles, there are finitely many one-dimensional continuous families which we enumerate.

Spherical Light Integration over Spherical Caps via Spherical Harmonics [PDF]

open access: yesSIGGRAPH Asia 2020 Technical Communications, 2020
Spherical area light sources are widely used in synthetic rendering. However, traditional Monte Carlo methods can require an excessive number of samples for sufficient accuracy. We propose a Spherical Harmonics (SH) based method to provide a trade-off between performance and accuracy. Our key idea is an analytical integration of SH over spherical caps.

Research on Three-Dimensional Morphological Characteristics Evaluation Method and Processing Quality of Coarse Aggregate

open access: yesBuildings, 2022
The size, shape, gradation and appearance of aggregate have a significant impact on the road performance of asphalt mixtures, which is directly related to the deformation characteristics and fatigue resistance of asphalt mixtures.

Spherical branes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
AbstractWe construct new solutions of ten-dimensional supergravity with sixteen super-charges which describe the backreaction of Dp-branes with spherical worldvolume. These solutions are holographically dual to the (p+ 1)-dimensional maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory onSp+1.

Fracturing Proppant Quality Estimation Based on Fuzzy Connectedness and Shape Similarity

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
To improve the accuracy and efficiency of measuring fracturing proppant sphericity and roundness, a measurement scheme is designed by combining fuzzy connectedness and shape similarity.

Effect of moisture content on some physical properties of Canarium schweinfurthii Engl. fruits

open access: yesResearch in Agricultural Engineering, 2016
The effect of moisture content on some physical properties of three varieties of Canarium schweinfurthii Engl. fruits (small, large and long) was studied at 40.91%, 34.92%, 23.44%, 18.5% and 11.03% moisture content on wet basis in order to solve problems

Effects of Processing Conditions on the Properties of Porous Diatomite Granules Prepared by Sodium Alginate Gelation

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
The proper application of millimeter-sized spherical porous ceramic supports in catalytic operations relies on their ease of handling, convenient separation, recyclability, high-catalyst-solid loading, and the optimum mass transfer of reactants and ...

Transverse sphericity of primary charged particles in minimum bias proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=0.9$, 2.76 and 7 TeV [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Measurements of the sphericity of primary charged particles in minimum bias proton--proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=0.9$, 2.76 and 7 TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC are presented. The observable is linearized to be collinear safe and is measured in
