Nucleus of Spheroidal Graphite in Cast Iron
MRS Proceedings, 1984ABSTRACTThe Spheroidal Graphites in cast iron and Ni-C alloy are extracted by using chloric acid or aqua regia and clean up using hydro-fluoric acid and hot water. The spheroidal graphite is crushed down till under five micron thickness wrapped by aluminium foil.

Formation of spheroidal graphite in cast iron
Metal Science and Heat Treatment, 19841. Refractory particles of Polirit introduced into a cast iron melt are passive graphitizing centers around which graphite inclusions form. Growth and configuration of these inclusions is regulated with a reduction in melt temperature by precipitation on their surface of surface-active elements present in the melt.

High-strength bainitic cast iron with spheroidal graphite
Metal Science and Heat Treatment, 19781. The change in the properties of high-strength cast iron in relation to isothermal holding time is extremal in character. 2. The best mechanical properties of cast iron with spheroidal graphite are obtained at 300–400° with 25–40% retained austenite. 3.

Equal channel angular pressing of spheroidal graphite cast iron
Materials Research Express, 2019Spheroidal graphite cast iron is an engineering material which has proved its importance during previous decades. However, limited workability of this material could be a challenge for spreading of its applications and there is a little knowledge about ...

Machinability study on pearlitic spheroidal graphite cast iron
International Journal of Production Research, 1992In spite of its earlier development, SG iron is finding applications only recently in the automotive sector. This has been attributed to difficulty in the foundry as well as lack of data in its machinability. The present paper illustrates data in the machinability of SG iron with recently developed coated tools. The existence of a critical velocity for

673K Embrittlement of Ferritic Spheroidal Graphite Cast Iron
MRS Proceedings, 1984ABSTRACTIntergranular fracture had been observed in the temperature range from 573K – 673K, where the ductilit miniTum appears at 673K for the strain rate of sec−1 in ferritic spheroidal graphite cast irons. The cause of intergranular fracture at about 673K has been investigated. The following two points are emphasized.

Formation of chunky graphite in spheroidal graphite cast iron
2014In recent years, the production of ductile iron castings has increased considerably due to increasing application in the existing traditional market and expansion in the heavy section sector - like wind turbine components and heavy transport vehicle parts. In the production of massive, heavy section castings many foundries are faced with the problem of
