Optical Signature of Moiré Superlattices Formed by Twisted SrTiO3 Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We discover optical signatures from bonded interfaces in twisted SrTiO3 moiré superlattices, including low‐frequency Raman vibrational modes and strong second‐harmonic generation, consistent with strong interlayer coupling inferred from cross‐sectional electron microscopy and ab initio calculations. ABSTRACT Moiré superlattices formed at the interfaces

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Study of the Transition from Bulk- to Surface-Dominated Relaxation of Hydrogen in Micron-Scale Pores

open access: yesMagnetochemistry
Understanding the proton relaxation mechanism of hydrogen gas in porous media is critical for underground hydrogen storage. This study investigates the proton relaxation mechanisms of hydrogen gas using variable-pressure NMR experiments on idealized ...

Flat-response spin-exchange relaxation free atomic magnetometer under negative feedback

open access: yesOptics Express, 2014
We demonstrate that the use of negative feedback extends the detection bandwidth of an atomic magnetometer in a spin-exchange relaxation free (SERF) regime. A flat-frequency response from zero to 190 Hz was achieved, which is nearly a three-fold enhancement while maintaining sensitivity, 3 fT/Hz1/2 at 100 Hz.

Ultrawide Bandwidth Optomechanical Magnetometry Using Flux Concentration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐permeability flux concentrators enable ultrawide‐bandwidth chip‐scale optomechanical magnetometry by exploiting magnetic nonlinearity to up‐convert low‐frequency fields to the mechanical resonance, where sensitivity is optimal. This enables flat wideband operation over more than four orders of magnitude, from tens of kilohertz to sub‐hertz ...

Cross-Axis projection error in optically pumped magnetometers and its implication for magnetoencephalography systems

open access: yesNeuroImage, 2022
Optically pumped magnetometers (OPMs) developed for magnetoencephalography (MEG) typically operate in the spin-exchange-relaxation-free (SERF) regime and measure a magnetic field component perpendicular to the propagation axis of the optical-pumping ...

Si‐Doped Nanocrystalline Diamond as Highly Sensitive Luminescence Thermometer for the Physiological Temperature Range

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, diamonds with negative charged silicon‐vacancy (SiV−) centers have been designed for use as thermometers in biomedical applications. Multiparametric analysis of the emission characteristics of the SiV− centers provides extraordinary sensitivity for temperature detection in the physiological temperature range.

Multilayer Spindle Shaped Magnetic Shielding Device for SERF Atomic Magnetometer Application

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Most of shielding devices currently used for SERF magnetometers are multilayer cylindrical magnetic shielding barrels. This article studies a new multilayer spindle shaped magnetic shielding barrel for the spin exchange relaxation free (SERF ...

Fast In-Situ Triaxial Remanent Magnetic Field Measurement for Single-Beam SERF Atomic Magnetometer Based on Trisection Algorithm

open access: yesPhotonic Sensors, 2023
We demonstrate a method for quickly and automatically detecting all three components of a remanent magnetic field around a shielded spin-exchange relaxation-free (SERF) atomic magnetometer (AM) using the trisection algorithm (TSA) for zero-field ...

Catalytically Enhanced Near Room‐Temperature Hydrogen Sensing Using Pd‐ZnO Colloidal Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Pd‐decorated ZnO colloidal crystal monolayers demonstrate excellent performance across a wide hydrogen concentration range at 33°C, with high selectivity and reproducible device fabrication. The sensors show strong responses even at low‐ppm H2 concentrations and an ultra‐low detection limit of 82 ppb, indicating their suitability for diverse hydrogen ...
