ENERGY DEPENDENCE OF THE POMERON SPIN-FLIP [PDF]

open access: yesModern Physics Letters A, 1998
There is no theoretical reason to think that the spin-flip component of the Pomeron is zero. One can measure the spin-flip part using Coulomb-nuclear interference (CNI). Perturbative QCD calculations show that the spin-flip component is sensitive to the smallest quark separation in the proton, while the non-flip part probes the largest separation ...

Analysis of data for stored polarized beams using a spin flipper

open access: yesPhysical Review Special Topics. Accelerators and Beams, 2008
We employ the so-called “spin response formalism,” which is a linear response theory applied to the spin dynamics in circular accelerators, to analyze recent measurements of spin-flip resonance widths.

Nanomechanical detection of itinerant electron spin flip [PDF]

open access: yesNature Nanotechnology, 2008
Spin is an intrinsically quantum property, characterized by angular momentum. A change in the spin state is equivalent to a change in the angular momentum or mechanical torque. This spin-induced torque has been invoked as the intrinsic mechanism in experiments ranging from the measurements of angular momentum of photons g-factor of metals and magnetic ...

Effects of odderon spin on helicity amplitudes in pp elastic scattering

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2023
In recent years, the discovery of the odderon, a colorless C-odd gluonic compound, has been confirmed in the TOTEM and D0 collaborations. However, the spin quantum number of the odderon remains unidentified.

Full counting statistics of spin-flip and spin-conserving charge transitions in Pauli-spin blockade

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2020
We investigate the full counting statistics (FCS) of spin-conserving and spin-flip charge transitions in Pauli-spin blockade regime of a GaAs double quantum dot.

Spin-flip versus non-spin-flip interaction in forward (p, n) reactions [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1983
Abstract The ratio of the probabilities for triggering Gamow-Teller or Fermi transitions in forward (p, n) reactions is evaluated, using total and forward nucleon-nucleon cross sections. Our results indicate that the ratio extracted from the (p, n) reaction is not consistent with the free nucleon-nucleon data.

Stimulated emission and absorption of photons in magnetic point contacts

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2012
Point contacts between high anisotropy ferromagnetic SmCo _5 and normal metal Cu are used to achieve a strong spin-population inversion in the contact core.

Probing the Pomeron spin structure with Coulomb-nuclear interference

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2021
Polarized pp elastic scattering at small angles in the Coulomb-nuclear interference (CNI) region offers a unique opportunity to study the spin structure of the Pomeron.
