Entanglement of a Single Spin-1 Object: An Example of Ubiquitous Entanglement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Using a single spin-1 object as an example, we discuss a recent approach to quantum entanglement. The key idea of the approach consists in presetting of basic observables in the very definition of quantum system.

Strong Quantum Spin Correlations Observed in Atomic Spin Mixing

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2011
We have observed sub-Poissonian spin correlations generated by collisionally induced spin mixing in a spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensate. We measure a quantum noise reduction of -7 dB (-10 dB corrected for detection noise) below the standard quantum limit (SQL) for the corresponding coherent spin states.

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 regulates cell adhesion and membrane protrusive activity of ovarian cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.

Spin and Charge Correlations in Quantum Dots: An Exact Solution

open access: yes, 2010
The inclusion of charging and spin-exchange interactions within the Universal Hamiltonian description of quantum dots is challenging as it leads to a non-Abelian action.

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

di-Langlands correspondence and extended observables

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We explore the difference Langlands correspondence using the four dimensional N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 2 super-QCD. Surface defects and surface observables play the crucial role.

Microscopic Linear Response Theory of Spin Relaxation and Relativistic Transport Phenomena in Graphene

open access: yesCondensed Matter, 2018
We present a unified theoretical framework for the study of spin dynamics and relativistic transport phenomena in disordered two-dimensional Dirac systems with pseudospin-spin coupling.

Initial singlet and triplet spin state contributions to pp -> pp pi0

open access: yes, 1999
The PINTEX facility at the IUCF Cooler ring, dedicated to the study of spin dependence in nucleon-nucleon interactions, has been used to measure polarization observables of the reaction pp -> pp pi0 at beam energies between 325 and 400 MeV.

New insights into the spin structure of the nucleon [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We analyze the low-energy spin structure of the nucleon in a covariant effective field theory with explicit spin-3/2 degrees of freedom to third order in the small scale expansion.

Direct observation of a propagating spin wave induced by spin-transfer torque

open access: yesNature Nanotechnology, 2011
Spin torque oscillators with nanoscale electrical contacts are able to produce coherent spin waves in extended magnetic films, and offer an attractive combination of electrical and magnetic field control, broadband operation, fast spin-wave frequency modulation, and the possibility of synchronizing multiple spin-wave injection sites.
