Evaluation of Safety of Spinal Anaesthesia in Patients Receiving Perioperative Antithrombotic Therapy Undergoing Infrainguinal Revascularisation Surgeries: A One-Year Prospective Clinical Research

open access: yesJournal of Health Science and Medical Research (JHSMR)
Objective: To evaluate anaesthetic outcome, patient outcome and timing of perioperative antithrombotic therapy in relation to intrathecal injection in patients undergoing infrainguinal revascularisation surgery, for peripheral artery disease (PAD) in ...

Human iPSCs Derived MSCs‐Secreted Exosomes Modulate Senescent Nucleus Pulposus Cells Induced Macrophage Polarization via Metabolic Reprogramming to Mitigate Intervertebral Disc Degeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Senescent nucleus pulposus cells drive inflammatory M1 macrophage polarization, exacerbating intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD). Conversely, M1 macrophages accelerate NP cell senescence, creating a vicious cycle. iPSCs‐derived mesenchymal stem cell (iMSCs) exosomes break this loop by delivering miR‐100‐5p to suppress mTORC1/glycolysis in ...

Activation of Spinal Astrocyte α2A Adrenoceptors Protects Against Sepsis‐Induced Heart Injury Through Inhibition of GABAergic Neuronal Necroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study in this paper found that activating the α2A receptors of astrocytes in the thoracic spinal cord can reduce the release of inflammatory factors, thereby decreasing the necroptosis of GABAergic neurons and consequently alleviating myocardial injury caused by sepsis.

Influence of sex on cerebrospinal fluid density in adults [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The extent of sensory block during spinal anaesthesia is unpredictable and is influenced by many factors, mainly patient position, site of injection, baricity and the dose of drug injected.

Immunocompatible Elastomer With Enhanced Fibrous Capsule‐Resistance and Elasticity by Water‐Induced Surface Phase Reconfiguration.

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces a strategy for engineering heterogeneous surface and bulk structures within a single material, termed phase‐separation and underwater reconfiguration‐enhanced (PURE) elastomers. These elastomers combine high bulk elasticity with enhanced immunocompatibility at the surface.

Evaluation of spinal and epidural anaesthesia for day care surgery in lower limb and inguinoscrotal region

open access: yesJournal of Anaesthesiology Clinical Pharmacology, 2011
Background: Day care surgery is still in its infancy in India. Both regional and general anaesthesia can be used for this. Central neuraxial blocks are simple cheap and easy to perform.
