Manipulation of Oxygen Tension in Damaged Regions via Hypoxia‐Induced IPN Hydrogel Microspheres for Intervertebral Disc Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel interpenetrating network hydrogel microsphere (NSC‐Exos@HIMS) is developed to manipulate oxygen tension in damaged regions and recruit endogenous stem cells. In vitro and in vivo results show that NSC‐Exos@HIMS maintains the hypoxia microenvironment for up to 5 days, which triggers nucleus pulposus cell‐like differentiation and enhanced ECM ...

A companion to the preclinical common data elements for phenotyping seizures and epilepsy in rodent models. A report of the TASK3‐WG1C: Phenotyping working group of the ILAE/AES joint translational task force

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract Epilepsy is a heterogeneous disorder characterized by spontaneous seizures and behavioral comorbidities. The underlying mechanisms of seizures and epilepsy across various syndromes lead to diverse clinical presentation and features. Similarly, animal models of epilepsy arise from numerous dissimilar inciting events.

Shivering Management in Spinal Anesthesia: Evaluating the Role of Ketamine: A Narrative Review

open access: yesArchives of Anesthesia and Critical Care
Background: Shivering is one of the most prevalent known complications due to dysregulation in the thermoregulatory system following regional anesthesia, with an incidence of 65%, leading to unpleasant outcomes and decreased patient satisfaction ...

The Modeling and Quantification of Rhythmic to Non-rhythmic Phenomenon in Electrocardiography during Anesthesia [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
Variations of instantaneous heart rate appears regularly oscillatory in deeper levels of anesthesia and less regular in lighter levels of anesthesia. It is impossible to observe this "rhythmic-to-non-rhythmic" phenomenon from raw electrocardiography waveform in current standard anesthesia monitors. To explore the possible clinical value, I proposed the

Paresthesia in Spinal Anesthesia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Spinal anesthesia is induced by injecting small amounts of local anesthetic into the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), which solution must be capable of blocking nerve paths, and non-toxic, that is, it should not hinder the proper functioning of the bulbar centers, or interfere with the metabolic processes of the more important organs.

Synergistic Modulating of Mitochondrial Transfer and Immune Microenvironment to Attenuate Discogenic Pain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Gallic acid (GA) and copper ions self‐assemble to form nanoparticles, which are then modified with mitochondrial targeting peptides and gap junction modulator. These nanoparticles scavenge mitochondrial reactive oxygen species to induce M2 polarization and enhance intercellular mitochondrial transfer.

Correlative factors of post-dural puncture backache in cesarean section

open access: yesفصلنامه دانشگاه علوم پزشکی جهرم, 2013
Introduction: Spinal anesthesia is an optional method chosen for cesarean section. One main reason for the decline of this method is backache. This study was conducted to investigate the factors associated with post-dural puncture backache in cesarean ...

Biomimetic Microstructured Scaffold with Release of Re‐Modified Teriparatide for Osteoporotic Tendon‐to‐Bone Regeneration via Balancing Bone Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops RPTH by re‐modifying teriparatide and designs a biomimetic microstructured scaffold (BMRP) loaded with RPTH to address osteoporotic tendon‐to‐bone interface repair. The BMRP restores tissue architecture by balancing bone homeostasis and remodeling the microstructure, achieving functional recovery in an osteoporotic rotator cuff tear
