FRACTURE ANALYSIS AND IMPROVEMENT RESEARCH OF CUTTING SPINDLE FOR A BOOM ROADHEADER

open access: yesJixie qiangdu, 2018
In order to find out the cause of the fracture of the cutting spindle as one of the key components of a cantilever roadheader, and to solve this fracture problem, this paper analyzes it in multiple ways and proposes an improved scheme.

Drilling optimisation for additively manufactured PC/ABS parts: Effects of shell layer count in the MEX process

open access: yesJournal of Advances in Manufacturing Engineering
Although additive manufacturing enables near-final geometries, dimensional accuracy varies due to design and process factors. Features exceeding the critical angle may experience unavoidable distortions, even with support structures.

Upscaling Pulsed Laser Fragmentation in Liquids by Advanced Free‐Flow Setups

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Advanced flow setups providing thin colloid films are introduced to upscale pulsed laser fragmentation in liquids for sustainable nanoparticle synthesis. Their potential is demonstrated by yielding remarkably small ZnO nanoparticles of <7 nm. Numerical simulations complement the study, revealing that the superior performance can be attributed to ...

Spatially Configurable Conformal Sensor Integration on an Ultra‐Fine Metallic Needle for Minimally Invasive Deep‐Tissue Oxygen Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A multi‐point oxygen‐sensing ultra‐fine needle (MO‐UFN) is developed by conformally integrating a lithographically patterned flexible electrochemical sensor array onto a clinical acupuncture needle. The platform preserves an approximately 0.3 mm diameter while enabling spatially resolved oxygen profiling along the insertion pathway.

Circadian and homeostatic modulation of sleep spindles in the human electroencephalogram [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Sleep spindles are transient EEG oscillations of about 12-16 Hz. Together with slow waves, they hallmark the human non-REM sleep EEG. Sleep spindles originate in the thalamus and are suggested to have a sleep protective function by reducing sensory ...

CD9+ B Cells Induce T Follicular Helper Cell Apoptosis to Regulate Germinal Center Regression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A unique subset of CD9+ B cells regulates germinal center B (GC‐B) cell regression by inducing T follicular helper (Tfh) cell apoptosis through multiple signaling pathways, such as ALCAM‐CD6. FOXP1 plays a key role in GC‐B cell differentiation. These findings clarify mechanisms of GC degeneration and termination and offer potential targets for adenoid ...
