Assessment of High Speed Spindle Accuracies

open access: yesJOURNAL OF ADVANCES IN CHEMISTRY, 2017
The spindle error contributes to 25 percent of the error sources of the work piece in- accuracies. The 70 percent of the spindle errors are due to thermal errors that occurs in the spindle. The heat generation in high-speed built-in motorized spindle is of important concern in high speed machining.

Correlations between adolescent processing speed and specific spindle frequencies [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Neuroscience, 2015
Sleep spindles are waxing and waning thalamocortical oscillations with accepted frequencies of between 11 and 16 Hz and a minimum duration of 0.5 s. Our research has suggested that there is spindle activity in all of the sleep stages, and thus for the present analysis we examined the link between spindle activity (Stage 2, rapid eye movement (REM) and ...

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Estimating temperature distribution and heat quantity of spindle shaft for machining centers

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing
The thermal issue of spindles for machining centers is still fundamentally unresolved. Thermal problems due to increased temperature of the spindle shaft lead to thermal displacement of the tool axis and an increase in friction torque, consequently ...

Research on dynamic characteristics of motorized spindle based on comprehensive stiffness of angular contact ball bearing [PDF]

open access: yesMechanical Sciences
In order to study the dynamic performance of a motorized spindle system more accurately and to consider the centrifugal effect, thermal effect of the angular contact ball bearing (ACBB) caused by high speed and influence of temperature rise on the ...

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Experimental Study on the Dynamic Performance of a New High-Speed Spindle Supported by Water-Lubricated Hybrid Bearings

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2016
The dynamic performance of a new high-speed spindle supported by water-lubricated hybrid bearings is experimentally studied on a test rig. The present design allows the speed of the spindle up to 30,000 rpm, with a bearing internal diameter of 40 mm ...

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have
