Chatter suppression in milling processes using periodic spindle speed variation

open access: yes, 2009
Spindle speed variation is a well known technique to suppress regenerative machine tool vibrations, but it is usually considered to be effective only for low spindle speeds. In this paper, the effect of spindle speed variation is analyzed in the high-speed domain, for the spindle speeds corresponding to the first flip (period doubling) and to the first

Revisiting paravertebral muscles in European rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) and European brown hares (Lepus europaeus) (Leporidae; Lagomorpha)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Domesticated European rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) have long been chosen as laboratory model organisms. Despite this, there has been no definitive study of the vertebral musculature of wild rabbits. Relevant descriptions of well‐studied veterinary model mammals (such as dogs) are generally applicable, but not appropriate for a species ...

PARAMETRICAL PHENOMENA UNDER ON-MACHINE PROCESS CONTROL

open access: yesВестник Донского государственного технического университета, 2018
The problem on the stationary tool trajectories instability relative to the workpiece taking into account the periodic parameter variation of the interacting subsystems and of the dynamic coupling formed under cutting is considered. Parameter changes are

Histology and fossil diagenesis of a pterosaur tooth from the Crato Formation (Lower Cretaceous of Brazil)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Pterosaur dental biology remains poorly understood despite its importance for comprehending feeding strategies and flight adaptations. Here, we present the first comprehensive histological analysis of an ornithocheiriform pterosaur tooth from the Lower Cretaceous Crato Formation (Santana Group, Northeast Brazil).

Growth dynamics, skeletochronology, and histovariability of the theropod dinosaur Berthasaura leopoldinae

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Osteohistological sampling on different bones of theropod dinosaur documents discrepant age record, growth, and metabolism. This could result unprecise paleobiological inferences if samplings are based on single bones. However, multi‐bone sampling can attenuate these discrepancies, helping to infer growth dynamics and physiology of these extinct ...

Active Suppression of Chatter by Programed Variation of Spindle Speed

open access: yesActive Suppression of Chatter by Programed Variation of Spindle Speed
By a programed variation of the spindle speed of machine tools, it is possible to control the onset of regenerative-type self-excited chatter, which restricts the maximum depth of cut allowable in rough cutting operations. This paper presents a theoretical basis of this phenomenon, together with experimental proofs demonstrated in turning operations.

Ursolic Acid Alleviates Orchitis via Modulating Ferroptosis in Peritubular Myoid Cells of Testis

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Ursolic acid modulates key ferroptosis‐related pathways in the peritubular myoid cells of the testis in forest musk deer. ABSTRACT Chronic stress adversely affects reproductive health, increasing susceptibility to pathologies such as orchitis. Additionally, the maintenance of iron homeostasis is essential for preserving the function of the testicles ...

Enhancing Meat Quality Through Dietary Fiber: Insights Into the Gut Microbiota‐Derived Short‐Chain Fatty Acids‐Muscle Axis

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Dietary fiber (DF) modulates meat quality through the gut‐muscle axis by reshaping gut microbiota, improving intestinal integrity, reducing inflammation, and regulating muscle metabolism. These mechanisms influence muscle fiber characteristics and post‐mortem biochemistry, thereby enhancing tenderness, juiciness, color, flavor, and nutritional value of

Compliant hydrogel cuff coating with real‐time pressure monitoring and antibiofilm capabilities for ventilator‐associated pneumonia prophylaxis

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
A soft‐compliant hydrogel cuff coating combines real‐time pressure monitoring with intrinsic antibacterial activity for prophylaxis of ventilator‐associated pneumonia. A flexible pressure‐sensing patch is embedded in the coating to enable wireless dynamic monitoring of endotracheal cuff pressure through Bluetooth.
