Suppression of period doubling chetter in high-speed milling by spindle speed variation [PDF]

open access: yesMachining Science and Technology, 2011
Spindle speed variation is a well known technique to suppress regenerative machine tool vibra- tions, but it is usually considered to be effective only for low spindle speeds.

The analysis of tool life and wear mechanisms in spindle speed variation machining [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2014
Regenerative chatter vibrations generally limit the achievable material removal rate in machining. The diffusion of spindle speed variation (SSV) as a chatter suppression strategy is mainly restricted to academy and research centers.

Perturbation Analysis of Spindle Speed Variation in Machine Tool Chatter [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Vibration and Control, 1997
Spindle speed variation has been shown to be an effective method for chatter control. In this paper, a single-degree-of-freedom regenerative type chatter equation is treated using perturbation methods. Rather than using the time coordinate, the angle of revolution is taken as the independent coordinate for maintaining a constant delay in the equations.

Programming spindle speed variation in turning

open access: yesEastern-European Journal of Enterprise Technologies, 2017
A mathematical model for the turning process is developed, which considers the oscillations of technological machining system (TMS) in a 3D space, along all three coordinate axes simultaneously. The model accounts for the influence of natural feedback on the depth, feed and cutting speed; moreover, the effect of machining by chatter marks is introduced

Influence of Elastomer Layers in the Quality of Aluminum Parts on Finishing Operations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
In finishing processes, the quality of aluminum parts is mostly influenced by static and dynamic phenomena. Different solutions have been studied toward a stable milling process attainment.

Influence of material removal on the dynamic behavior of thin-walled structures in peripheral milling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Machining is a material removal process that alters the dynamic properties during machining operations. The peripheral milling of a thin-walled structure generates vibration of the workpiece and this influences the quality of the machined surface.

Selection of design and operational parameters in spindle-holder-tool assemblies for maximum chatter stability by using a new analytical model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper, using the analytical model developed by the authors, the effects of certain system design and operational parameters on the tool point FRF, thus on the chatter stability are studied.

Tribology of vegetal oils as base for eco-friendly nano additivated lubricants [PDF]

open access: yesINCAS Bulletin, 2023
This paper presents an analysis based on experimental data for pointing out the behavior of rapeseed oil when it is additivated with a modifier of friction and wear, the nano hexagonal Boron nitride.

PASSIVE TORQUE SIMULATION OF SMALL ANGULAR CONTACT BEARING AT HIGH SPEED [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Description of common ball bearing torque models was presented and adopted to the complex thermo-mechanical model of the high speed spindle. Ball bearing passive torque was measured on the own high-speed spindle design.
