Surface roughness variation of thin wall milling, related to modal interactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
High-speed milling operations of thin walls are often limited by the so-called regenerative effect that causes poor surface finish. The aim of this paper is to examine the link between chatter instability and surface roughness evolution for thin wall ...

Qualitative evaluation of kerf taper angle of conventionally drilled holes in glass fiber epoxy composite

open access: yesFrontiers in Mechanical Engineering
This study analyses the impact of process parameters on Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) components produced through conventional drilling on a CNC drilling machine (VMC). GFRP’s challenging machinability is due to its high strength-to-weight ratio,

Analysis of drilling force characteristics and trepanning tool wear during GFRP low frequency axial vibration drilling hole

open access: yesJin'gangshi yu moliao moju gongcheng, 2023
The processing damages such as delamination and tearing were easily produced during the drilling of the sleeve holes of GFRP, which were directly related to the axial drilling force. In order to improve the quality of GFRP hole-making, a new diamond thin-

An analytical design method for milling cutters with nonconstant pitch to increase stability, part 2: Application [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Chatter stability in milling can be improved significantly using variable pitch cutters. The pitch angles can be optimized for certain chatter frequency and spindle speed ranges using the analytical method presented in the first part of this two-part ...

Dynamic analysis of runout correction in milling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Tool runout and its effects is an important area of research within modelling, simulation, and control of milling forces. Tool runout causes tool cutting edges to experience uneven forces during milling.

Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.
