Protein Disulfide Isomerase Disassembles TDP‐43/G3BP1 Condensates and Antagonizes TDP‐43 Pathological Aggregates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic aggregation of TDP‐43 is a common pathological feature in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, frontotemporal lobar degeneration, and Alzheimer's disease with TDP‐43 pathology. This study reports that wild‐type PDI slows down phase separation of TDP‐43 through direct interaction with TDP‐43.

Integrated Morphological, Comparative Transcriptomic, and Metabolomic Analyses Reveal Mechanisms Underlying Seasonal Patterns of Variation in Spines of the Giant Spiny Frog (Quasipaa spinosa)

open access: yes
Quasipaa spinosa, commonly known as the spiny frog, is an economically valued amphibian in China prized for its tender meat and nutritional value. This species exhibits marked sexual dimorphism, most notably the prominent spiny structures on males that ...

Enhanced Glycolysis‐Driven Histone H3K18 Lactylation Regulates Epileptogenesis by Modulating the E3 Ubiquitin Ligase COP1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Neuronal PKM2‐driven glycolysis generates excess lactate that triggers histone H3K18 lactylation (H3K18la), establishing a pathogenic metabolic‐epigenetic axis in epilepsy. Elevated H3K18la enriches the Cop1 promoter, transcriptionally upregulating the E3 ubiquitin ligase COP1, which subsequently drives proteasomal degradation of GABAARβ2 and impairs ...

Epac2 induces synapse remodeling and depression and its disease-associated forms alter spines

open access: yes, 2009
Dynamic remodeling of spiny synapses is crucial for cortical circuit development, refinement and plasticity, whereas abnormal morphogenesis is associated with neuropsychiatric disorders.

Advanced quantification pipeline reveals new spatial and temporal tumor characteristics in preclinical multiple myeloma

open access: yesEJNMMI Research
Background Radiological imaging plays an indispensable role in both preclinical and clinical studies of multiple myeloma (MM). However, manual quantification in longitudinal small animal PET/CT is limited by annotator bias, signal artifacts from urinary ...

Self‐Assembling Hybrid Hydrogel Reprograms the Stromal Vascular Fraction to Treat Osteoarthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a bioinspired injectable hydrogel that enhances the therapeutic potential of stem cell‐rich stromal vascular fraction for treating osteoarthritis. By reprogramming cell behavior through epigenetic modulation, the hydrogel promotes cartilage regeneration and reduces joint damage in a rat model, offering a promising new approach for ...

Circular RNA circNrip1 Interacts with SYNCRIP to Promote Neuropathic Pain by Stabilizing Tlr2 mRNA in Primary Sensory Neurons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Model of circNrip1 (cNrip1) upregulation driving neuropathic pain mechanisms. After peripheral nerve injury, increased FUS triggers the formation and upregulation of cNrip1 in injured DRG neurons. Upregulated cNrip1 recruits SYNCRIP to the 3′‐UTR of Tlr2 mRNA by binding to both, thereby promoting SYNCRIP‐triggered Tlr2 mRNA stability and increasing ...

Functional Mapping of Neurodevelopmental Disease Pathways to Key Neurodevelopmental Processes Represented in the Developmental Neurotoxicity In Vitro Testing Battery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Human‐relevant methods are essential for modern chemical safety assessment. This study helps define the capabilities and boundaries of an in vitro testing battery for developmental neurotoxicity by exploring its biological applicability domain. By linking neurodevelopmental disease‐related pathways to key neurodevelopmental processes, the work enhances
