To stabilize high‐voltage Li||NCM811 batteries, we develop an in situ polymerized deep‐eutectic electrolyte (p‐DEPE) featuring competitive hydrogen‐bonding coordination. This design weakens Ni4+ adsorption, suppresses oxygen release, and enhances interfacial stability.

Synthetic and natural chromium bearing spinels: an optical spectroscopy study
Four samples of synthetic chromium-bearing spinels of (Mg, Fe2+)(Cr, Fe3+)2O4 composition and four samples of natural spinels of predominantly (Mg, Fe2+)(Al, Cr)2O4 composition were studied at ambient conditions by means of optical absorption ...

Field‐Frustrated Cooperative Distortions: Suppressing Jahn‐Teller Ordering via Microwave Annealing
Microwave annealing decouples local Jahn‐Teller distortions from long‐range cooperative ordering in CuFe2O4, stabilizing a metastable cubic phase that remains locally distorted yet globally symmetry‐frustrated. Synchrotron XRD, PDF, XPS, and in situ thermal cycling reveal how non‐equilibrium MW‐phonon interactions suppress cooperative orbital‐lattice ...

Structural properties of Mn-substituted hercynite
In this work spinel series with the general formula Fe1-xMnxAl2O4 (where x = 0, 0.3, 0.5 and 0.7) were synthesized and characterized with respect to their structure and microstructure. X-ray diffractometry (XRD) was used to identify the phase composition

Thermal expansion behaviour of some oxide spinels [PDF]
Compounds which crystallize with the cubic spinel structure are believed to be unusually anharmonic. This work is concerned with investigating the anharmonicity in MgA 204 and ZnFe204 spinels.

LiF‐rich solid electrolyte interphases in lithium metal batteries are redefined as controllable nanostructured building blocks rather than homogeneous protective films. This review shows how LiF distribution, grain boundaries, and heterogeneous interfaces govern electron blocking and Li ion transport, and compares fluorinated electrolytes, artificial ...

Effects of Heat Treatment of Spinels as Determined by VIS/NIR and Raman Spectroscopy and XRD
Heat treatment is done to improve the color and clarity and, therefore, the value of gemstones. The objectives of this study include observing color and inclusion changes in pink spinels after heat treatment, and analyzing structural changes within ...

High‐entropy doping of Co‐free Ni‐rich LiNiO2 cathodes is achieved through a scalable 3D mixing process. Multi‐element incorporation stabilizes the layered structure, alleviates Li/Ni disorder and electrode swelling, and enhances cycling stability. This approach underscores the potential of high‐entropy strategies to deliver structurally robust and ...

Influence of the cation substitution on the magnetic properties of LiCo2O4 and Li(Me,Co)2O4 spinels
Lithium-based cells LiCo2O4 have been characterized by magnetic techniques, looking at the influence of the partial substitution of cobalt by 3d or 4d transition metal elements (Fe, Ni, Cu, Cr, Mo).

A Review of Failure Modes and Safety Strategies of Lithium‐Ion Batteries from Materials to Systems
A cascade‐aware framework is presented for lithium‐ion battery safety, linking thermal runaway initiation, acceleration, runaway reaction, and propagation with material‐, cell/pack‐, and system‐level interventions. By integrating failure mechanisms, quantitative safety indicators, and staged interception strategies, this review highlights how safer ...
