Surgical Treatment of Sacral Fractures: A Case Series Study

open access: yesJournal of Orthopedic and Spine Trauma, 2015
Background: The sacrum bone is an integral part of pelvis and spinal column. It protects lumbosacral neurologic plexus and maintains the spinal column and pelvic alignment.

Subject‐Specific Musculoskeletal Modeling: The Future of Predicting and Preventing Proximal Junctional Failure in Adult Spinal Deformity

open access: yesJOR SPINE, Volume 8, Issue 4, December 2025.
Proximal junctional failure is a devastating complication in spinal deformity surgery. Subject‐specific musculoskeletal modeling offers a novel approach to improve prediction and prevention by integrating biomechanics, muscle function, and bone quality.

Percutaneous Reduction and Fixation of Spinopelvic Dissociations: Myth or Reality? A Long-Term Retrospective Monocentric Comparative Study

open access: yes
Purpose To evaluate the restoration of spinopelvic sagittal parameters after percutaneous fixation combined with a closed reduction maneuver (CRIF-crack) for spinopelvic dissociation, and to compare clinical outcomes and complication rates with ...

The Relationship Between Postoperative Variation of Adjacent Segment Three‐Dimensional Kinematics and Postoperative PI‐LL in Patients With Degenerative Lumbar Scoliosis After Short Segment Fixation

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 17, Issue 12, Page 3342-3353, December 2025.
In summary, we collected the postoperative variation of motion pattern at the adjacent segment in patients with DLS over short‐term follow‐up. As a result, the reduction of coupled motion in adjacent segments indicates an improved balance of the spine compared to before the surgery.

Sacroiliac Joint Syndrome 10 Years after Lumbar Arthroplasty: The Importance of Spinopelvic Alignment

open access: yesGlobal Spine Journal, 2015
Introduction Sagittal balance is an independent predictor of outcomes in spinal care and several authors focused their attention on the lumbar lordosis restoration as the key point to prevent secondary sacroiliac joint dysfunction (SIJD) after fusion. On

Reduction of high-grade spondylolisthesis using minimally invasive spine surgery-transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion “trial-” technique: a technical note with case series [PDF]

open access: yesAsian Spine Journal
This retrospective case series evaluated the effectiveness of minimally invasive spine surgery-transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (MIS-TLIF) using the “trial-in-situ” technique for reducing high-grade spondylolisthesis.

Global Sagittal Imbalance Due to Change in Pelvic Incidence After Traumatic Spinopelvic Dissociation

open access: yes, 2017
OBJECTIVES: To examine how spinopelvic morphology changes after traumatic spinopelvic dissociation and whether these changes affect the sagittal balance of the spine. DESIGN: Retrospective analysis. SETTING: Level I trauma center.

Functional Outcome of Spinopelvic Fixation in Lumbosacral Pathologies

open access: yesJournal of Bharatpur Hospital
Background Achieving stable lumbosacral arthrodesis remains a technical challenge owing to the high biomechanical stress. Spinopelvic fixation offers enhanced stability and good bony fusion. This study aimed to evaluate functional and radiological outcomes of patients who underwent spinopelvic fixation surgery at our institution.MethodsWe performed a ...

SACRAL FRACTURE TREATMENT WITH A VARIATION OF THE LUMBOPELVIC FIXATION TECHNIQUE

open access: yesColuna/Columna
Spinopelvic instability is an uncommon injury that is caused by high-energy traumas. Surgical treatment is used, in the majority of cases, to restore stability and enable early mobilization.
