Design of Conformal Spiral Dual-Band Antenna for Wireless Capsule System
This paper presents a conformal spiral antenna that is miniaturized and with dual-resonant for the wireless implantable capsule system. The spiral antenna conforms to a swallowable capsule with a radius of 3 mm and a length of 26 mm without occupying the

Microstrip to parallel strip balun as spiral antenna feed [PDF]
This paper presents the design and implementation of a microstrip to parallel strip balun which are frequently used as balanced antennas feed. This wideband balun transition is composed of a parallel strip which is connected to the spiral antenna and a ...

Optimization of photomixers and antennas for continuous-wave terahertz emission [PDF]
We have studied terahertz emission from interdigitated finger photomixers coupled to planar antenna structures. Using both pulsed and continuous-wave excitation, polarization measurements reveal that the antenna design dominates the properties of the

Asymptotic extraction approach for antennas in a multilayered spherical media [PDF]
An efficient algorithm is introduced to enhance the convergence of dyadic Green's functions (DGF) in a layered spherical media where asymptotic expressions have been developed. The formulated expressions involve an infinite series of spherical eigenmodes

An integrated spiral antenna system for UWB [PDF]
As wireless communication applications require more and more bandwidth, the demand for wideband antennas increases as well. For instance, the ultra wideband radio (UWB) utilizes the frequency band of 3.1-10.6 GHz. The spiral antenna has a higher spectral efficiency than other planar antennas like the patch antenna.

High directivity fractal boundary microstrip patch antenna [PDF]
A novel patch antenna with a fractal boundary condition is proposed. Experimental and numerical results corroborate the fact that the fractal characteristic of the perimeter produces localised modes.

A Novel Square-Spiral Strip Antenna [PDF]
A square-spiral strip antenna is designed considering the procedure used to obtain log-periodic antennas. Simulation results of the new design are compared with those of the well known and widely used Archimedean spiral antenna in terms of the frequency dependency. The effect of dielectric substrate used to support the antennas is also investigated.

Concentric circles and spiral configurations for large correlator arrays in radio astronomy [PDF]
Aperture synthesis arrays are commonly used in radio astronomy to take images of radio point sources, with the planned Square Kilometre Array (SKA) being the most common example.

Magnetic fields in merging spirals – the Antennae [PDF]
We present an extensive study of magnetic fields in a system of merging galaxies. We obtained for NGC4038/39 (the Antennae) radio total intensity and polarization maps at 8.44, 4.86 and 1.49GHz using the VLA in the C and D configurations. The radio thermal fraction was found to be about 50% at 10.45GHz, higher than in normal spirals.
