Low-Impedance Flexible Archimedean-Equiangular Spiral Antenna
IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2019A flexible low-impedance wideband antenna with a hybrid structure of Archimedean spiral and equiangular spiral is presented in this letter. The input impedance of the antenna is reduced to about 75 Ω by the attenuation effect of the equiangular spiral ...

Design of an Archimedean spiral antenna
2008 8th International Symposium on Antennas, Propagation and EM Theory, 2008The Archimedean spiral antennas are widely used as a kind of broad-bandwidth antennas. This paper presents an Archimedean spiral antenna and its directivity performance. A metal cavity is used to reflect unwanted power in order to get unidirectional pattern.

1992 Symposium on Antenna Technology and Applied Electromagnetics, 1992
An array consisting of four-by-four spiral antennas is constructed using the pair-element (PE) technique. The 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth is improved to 8.9% by the PE technique from 3.8% for an array without using the PE technique. The −14-dB return loss bandwidth is widened to 6.4% from 3.6%.

A study of an Archimedes spiral antenna
Proceedings of IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium and URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2002The gain, radiation pattern, and input impedance of a planar two-arm Archimedes spiral [Bawer and Wolfe, 1960] fed by a Marchand balun [Cloete, 1980] and designed for 2 to 6 GHz are presented. The self-complementary spiral pattern was etched onto a thin copper clad dielectric substrate and mounted 30 mm above a circular conducting ground plane with ...

A novel polygonal spiral antenna
Proceedings of the 2012 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation, 2012In this paper, we present a novel 2–18 GHz polygonal spiral antenna that approximates a circular spiral in its highest frequencies and gradually transforms itself into a square spiral antenna at its lowest frequencies of operation. The design has successfully addressed the problem of high axial ratios associated with UWB rectangular spiral antenna ...

Two types of dual-spiral slot antennas characterised by their simple feed are studied; one is a bidirectional radiation type (Bi-DSS) and the other is a unidirectional type (Uni-DSS). The radiation characteristics of the Bi-DSS are evaluated using the numerically determined magnetic current distribution.

Low-Dispersion Spiral Antennas
IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2012A two-arm power spiral antenna with inherently low dispersion is proposed. Analytical, computational, and experimental steps are taken to demonstrate its superior time domain performance. When compared with conventional Archimedean and equiangular spirals, up to 40% improved fidelity factor and pulse compression are achieved.

Broadband additive spiral antenna
2017 Antenna Measurement Techniques Association Symposium (AMTA), 2017A novel low cost and high performance miniaturized broadband Additive Spiral Antenna (ASA) technology (patent pending) has been developed. Unlike other conventional spiral designs, this new spiral antenna leverages Additive Manufacturing (AM) 3D zig-zag shapes to achieve an efficient slow wave radiation structure for extending spiral's low frequency ...
