Spiral Planar Antenna for MIMO
2018 IEEE 7th Global Conference on Consumer Electronics (GCCE), 2018A high gain spiral planar antenna for the multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) is proposed and fabricated in the frequency band of 2.4GHz. Its maximum and average gains are higher than those of the commercialized antenna. Two fabricated antennas are put adjacent to the same and reverse direction, and MIMO antennas are composed.

Impedance Matching of an Archimedean Spiral Antenna
2020 IEEE International Conference on Electro Information Technology (EIT), 2020This paper describes the design and impedance matching of an Archimedean spiral antenna using multi-section quarter wave transformers as well as exponential tapered line transformers. Each design starts with a paired strips transmission line configuration and gradually changes to a microstrip layout while also transforming the impedance value.

This paper deals with a microstrip antenna that has a spiral geometry rectangular form. This antenna form is based on the analysis of a spiral monopole. Through such configuration, it is possible to obtain a wider bandwidth operation. In addition, a considerable bandwidth in this type of microstrip is verified.

IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2011
Conventional spiral antennas radiate either a left-handed circularly polarized (CP) wave or a right-handed CP wave in a specific direction (single CP radiation). This letter presents a novel spiral antenna, designated as the metamaterial spiral, which radiates a dual CP wave.

A spiral antenna on a cylinder
IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium 1997. Digest, 2002This paper presents a spiral antenna which is located on a conducting cylinder (SPC). The antenna surface is parallel to the cylindrical surface. The authors examine the radiation characteristics of the SPC. The conducting cylinder is approximated using wire grids, and an electric field integral equation is solved with the method of moments.

When compared to printed cavity-backed spirals, slot spiral antennas offer the possibility of designs that are conformal and very thin. We discuss the physical characteristics of a cavity-backed slot spiral, as well as the associated infinite balun and termination designs.

Curved spiral antennas for freshwater applications
2015 IEEE Radio and Wireless Symposium (RWS), 2015Using FEKO EMSS simulation software we performed a numerical investigation of prototype, curved spiral antennas for underwater applications. We simulated flat and curved spiral antennas mounted on a pocketbook mussel (lampsilis cardium) in river water. The simulation incorporated the antenna, the mussel shell, the mussel tissue and freshwater as medium.

The reason for the popularity of the cavity-backed spiral antenna in ESM systems is discussed, together with the surprising lack of supporting analysis and detailed understanding of its operation. In the absence of any published mathematical analysis of the complete antenna, the function and principle of operation of the three main antenna components ...
