Contralateral migration of cerebral sparganosis through the splenium

Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery, 2007
Even though it has been known for some time that the cerebral sparganosis could migrate to the contralateral hemisphere, there have been no reports which described the route of migration. This paper reports a case of cerebral sparganosis which migrated from the right temporo-occipital lobe to the contralateral temporo-occipital lobe though the splenium

Visual spatial integrity in the absence of splenium

Brain Research, 2006
Several lines of evidence have confirmed that visual integrity among the two hemifields is severely impaired following transection of posterior part of the corpus callosum (splenium). But the extent of this impairment differs for various visual functions.

Meandering flow void around the splenium in moyamoya disease

Neurological Research, 2017
Meandering flow void around the splenium, which can be recognized on conventional T2-weighted images, implicates collateral flow in the splenial artery in patients with moyamoya disease. In this report, curves of flow voids around the splenium (SFVs) were evaluated in patients with moyamoya disease, and their diagnostic value and pathophysiology were ...

Reversible splenium diffusion weighted MRI changes associated with hypoglycemia

Journal of Diabetes and its Complications, 2015
Hypoglycemia can manifest as a stroke. MRI diffusion-weighted imaging is the most useful technique in diagnosing early ischemic injury. We report two cases of transient MRI lesions of the splenium of the corpus callosum related to hypoglycemia. Clinicians must be aware of such cases to avoid misdiagnosis.
