Calcineurin inhibition in splenocytes induced by pavlovian conditioning
The FASEB Journal, 2008ABSTRACT Pavlovian conditioning is one of the major neurobiological mechanisms of placebo effects, potentially influencing the course of specific diseases and the response to a pharmacological therapy, such as immunosuppression.

[RDP1258 on proliferation of rat splenocytes in vivo].
Xi bao yu fen zi mian yi xue za zhi = Chinese journal of cellular and molecular immunology, 2009To explore the immunosuppressive effects of a novel HLA-derived peptide, RDP1258, on rat splenocyte proliferation in vivo and its underlying mechanisms.RDP1258 was synthesized through artificial solid-phase synthesis method. Its effects on proliferative reaction of rat splenocytes in vivo were observed by (3)H-TDR incorporation method.

Splenocyte blastogenesis suppressed in rats implanted with an osmotic pump
Life Sciences, 1992Rats implanted subcutaneously with an empty osmotic pump connected by a polyethylene catheter to a jugular vein for 5 to 10 days evinced a decreased splenocyte responsiveness to blastogenic stimulation in vitro to bacterial lipopolysaccharide, a known B cell stimulator, as well as to the plant mitogens pokeweed mitogen (PWM), a known stimulator of T ...

Toxic Effects of Octylphenol on Cultured Rat and Murine Splenocytes
Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology, 1996Alkylphenol polyethoxylates and alkylphenols, such as 4-tertoctylphenol (OP), are environmental contaminants. Because these compounds are toxic to aquatic animals, we studied the effects of OP on splenocytes removed from male Fischer 344 rats or male Balb/c mice and cultured in vitro.

Cannabinoids and opioids share cAMP pathway in rat splenocytes
Journal of Neuroimmunology, 2003In the present work we investigated on rat splenocytes long-term interactions between opioid and cannabinoid drugs in terms of a common regulation of cAMP intracellular pathway. Both morphine and the synthetic cannabinoid compound CP-55,940 inhibited in a concentration-dependent manner the intracellular cAMP level in splenocytes stimulated by forskolin.

Effect of anti-inflammatory drugs on splenocyte membrane fluidity
Analytical Biochemistry, 2005In this study, fluorescence anisotropy measurements were performed using the fluorescent probe 1,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-hexatriene to investigate the effects on membrane fluidity resulting from the interaction between nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)-indomethacin, diclofenac, piroxicam, tenoxicam, indoprofen, clonixin, and etodolac-and mouse ...

Induction of Oral Tolerance in Splenocyte-Reconstituted SCID Mice
Clinical Immunology and Immunopathology, 1998The participation of each lymphocyte compartment in the induction of oral tolerance for antibody response was investigated by means of a new cell-transfer experimental system, using severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) mice. Various lymphocyte compartments from BALB/c mice were transferred into SCID mice and these mice were evaluated for oral ...

Evaluation of Mitochondrial Respiratory Function in Murine Splenocytes
Accumulated evidence has demonstrated a key role of mitochondria in the onset and progression of autoimmune disease. Understanding and modulation of mitochondrial dysfunction could provide new molecular targets for both preventive and therapeutic intervention in disease management.Mochitsuki, Marii, Shuang, Liu

Use of the cytokinesis-block micronucleus method in mouse splenocytes
Mutation Research Letters, 1991Mouse splenocytes have been used in the cytokinesis-block method for the evaluation of micronuclei induced by mutagenic agents in vitro as well as in vivo. Stimulation with concanavalin A for 48 h followed by 16-24-h treatment with 5 micrograms/ml cytochalasin B was found to be an optimum condition to obtain micronuclei in the binucleated splenocytes ...

Regulation of hamster splenocyte reactivity to concanavalin a during pregnancy
Cellular Immunology, 1980Abstract The survival to term of mammalian fetuses regardless of their expression of paternal or embryonic developmental antigens suggests that some alteration in the immune capabilities of a female occur during pregnancy. The immunocompetence of female Syrian golden hamsters during pregnancy was investigated with respect to the blastogenic response ...
