Smoothing by spline functions

Numerische Mathematik, 1967
In this paper we generalize the results of [4] and modify the algorithm presented there to obtain a better rate of convergence.

On the convexity of functional splines

Computer Aided Geometric Design, 1993
We prove the convexity of large classes of functional splines with help of results on quasiconcave and pseudoconcave functions. The method developed for functional splines can also be used for smooth approximations of convex polyhedrons and some other convex surfaces.

A quadratic spline function generator based on B-spline functions

International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2003
A function generator that converts a discrete time signal to its interpolation by a quadratic spline function with no phase distortions is described. The generator synthesizes the output as a linear combination of B-spline functions generated coherently and continuously.

FUNCTIONS WITH SPLINE SPECTRA AND THEIR APPLICATIONS

International Journal of Wavelets, Multiresolution and Information Processing, 2010
In this paper, we introduce a family of real-valued functions which have spline spectra. They extend the well-known Sinc function and generally are the restrictions to the real line of analytic functions in a strip containing the real axis. We investigate various properties of these functions including those related to interpolation, orthogonality ...

Spline Functions on Triangulations

2007
Spline functions are universally recognized as highly effective tools in approximation theory, computer-aided geometric design, image analysis, and numerical analysis. The theory of univariate splines is well known but this text is the first comprehensive treatment of the analogous bivariate theory.
