Switchable Thermal Mid‐IR Conducting Polymer Antenna Arrays
This study presents switchable mid‐infrared plasmonic resonances in PEDOT antenna arrays. Their optical extinction peaks can be reversibly switched ‘OFF’ and ‘ON’ by tuning the polaronic charge carrier concentration via the polymer's redox state, offering modulation of optical responses in the thermal mid‐infrared range including around 10 µm ...

Vector-valued Lg-splines II. Smoothing splines
In the first part of this series of papers [ibid. 70, 505-529 (1979; Zbl 0435.65007)] the authors have been concerned with the interpolation problem for vector-valued Lg-splines. In the present part, they continue their studies by considering the smoothing problem in the same vein.

Efficient Charge Transport in Zero‐Dimensional Perovskite for Ultrahigh‐Sensitivity X‐Ray Detection
A novel mono‐octahedral 0D Bi‐based Dpy3Bi2I12 perovskite strengthens the internal hydrogen bonds and forms a quasi‐2D lattice, exhibits exceptional charge transport and mobility, achieving high X‐ray sensitivity and ultralow‐dose imaging, and setting a new benchmark for 0D detector performance.

Amyloidogenic Peptide Fragments Designed From Bacterial Collagen‐like Proteins Form Hydrogel
This study identified amyloidogenic sequence motifs in bacterial collagen‐like proteins and exploited these to design peptides that self‐assemble into β‐sheet fibers and form hydrogels. One hydrogel supported healthy fibroblast growth, showing promise for biocompatible materials. Our work demonstrates that bacterial sequences can be harnessed to create

Advanced Design for Weakly Coupled Resonators by Automatic Active Optimization
An Automatic Active Optimization (AAO) strategy integrates machine learning predictors and genetic algorithms in a closed‐loop workflow. By iteratively expanding its dataset with new discoveries, AAO overcomes the limits of conventional methods. This approach finds superior microstructural designs beyond the initial sample space. We demonstrate this on

Birnbaum-Saunders Semi-Parametric Additive Modeling
Inclusion of nonparametric functions enhances the modeling when accommodating non-linear effects of covariates. Semi-parametric models have been successfully used for describing non-linear structures by means of parametric and nonparametric components ...

Dynamics of the Mammalian Placental Metabolome in Placentogenesis and Embryonic Development
This study identifies three metabolic stages (E8.5, E9.5–10.5, E11.5–14.5) and two transition periods (E8.5–9.5, E10.5–11.5) in mouse placental development. NAD(H) emerges as a key dynamic metabolite that enhances embryonic growth through accelerated segmentation and increased proliferation of mouse embryonic stem cell (mESC)‐induced presomitic ...
