Magnetic and electric excitations in split ring resonators

open access: yesOptics Express, 2007
We studied the electric and magnetic resonance of U-shaped SRRs. We showed that higher order excitation modes exist in both of the electric and magnetic resonances. The nodes in the current distribution were found for all the resonance modes. It turns out that the magnetic resonances are the modes with odd-number of half-wavelength of the current wave,

On the Radiation Properties of Split-Ring Resonators (SRRs) at the Second Resonance [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2015
The radiation properties of split-ring resonators (SRRs) at their second resonance frequency are studied for the first time in this work. In particular, the electric and magnetic dipole moments of the edge-coupled SRR are calculated analytically under the assumption of strong coupling between the internal and external rings. Based on these results, the

Nonlinear magnetization dynamics of antiferromagnetic spin resonance induced by intense terahertz magnetic field [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We report on the nonlinear magnetization dynamics of a HoFeO3 crystal induced by a strong terahertz magnetic field resonantly enhanced with a split ring resonator and measured with magneto-optical Kerr effect microscopy.

Tunable Resonances in the Plasmonic Split-Ring Resonator

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2014
A nanoscale resonator composed of two metal-insulator-metal (MIM) waveguides and a split ring is investigated numerically. The multipolar plasmonic resonance modes can be excited, weakened, or even cut off by adjusting the split angle. These novel phenomena are due to the electric polarization in the split area.

Novel SRR loaded waveguide bandstop filters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Two types of novel split ring resonator (SRR) loaded rectangular waveguide bandstop filter structures have been presented. The first proposed SRR-loaded waveguide bandstop filter has been designed simulated and tested.

An antenna-coupled split-ring resonator for biosensing

open access: yesJournal of Applied Physics, 2014
An antenna-coupled split-ring resonator-based microwave sensor is introduced for biosensing applications. The sensor comprises a metallic ring with a slit and integrated monopole antennas on top of a dielectric substrate. The backside of the substrate is attached to a metallic plate.

Tunable Graphene Split-Ring Resonators [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Applied, 2020
A split-ring resonator is a prototype of meta-atom in metamaterials. Though noble metal-based split-ring resonators have been extensively studied, up to date, there is no experimental demonstration of split-ring resonators made from graphene, an emerging intriguing plasmonic material.
