Planar Resonators for Metamaterials [PDF]
This paper presents the results of an investigation into a combination of electric and magnetic planar resonators in order to design the building element of a volumetric metamaterial showing simultaneously negative electric and magnetic polarizabilities ...

Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Lagrange Model for the Chiral Optical Properties of Stereometamaterials
We employ a general Lagrange model to describe the chiral optical properties of stereometamaterials. We derive the elliptical eigenstates of a twisted stacked split-ring resonator, taking phase retardation into account. Through this approach, we obtain a

Enhancing the selectivity of frequency selective surfaces for terahertz sensing applications [PDF]
This paper introduces a new technique for enhancing the selectivity (or the quality factor, Q-factor) of frequency selective surfaces (FSS) for sensing applications.

Compacted tunable split-ring resonators [PDF]
We propose tunable superconducting split-ring resonators (SRRs) employing nonlinear Josephson inductance. A fraction of SRR is replaced by Nb-AlOx-Nb Josephson tunnel junctions connected in parallel and forming a superconducting quantum interference device, whose inductance is sensitive to the external dc magnetic field. Due to the lumped nature of the

Optimizing photoactivation of PA‐mCherry for optical pooled CRISPR screens
Photoactivatable PA‐mCherry finds widespread use to optically tag individual cells. However, confocal 405 nm UV laser‐scanning (normal scan) is much less efficient than widefield UV illumination, limiting the use of PA‐mCherry on confocal instruments. We remedy this limitation by reporting that rapid and repeated confocal scanning with a low‐intensity,

Backscattering in silicon microring resonators: a quantitative analysis [PDF]
Silicon microring resonators very often exhibit resonance splitting due to backscattering. This effect is hard to quantitatively and predicatively model.

FILTER BASED ON SPLIT RING RESONATOR
This paper presents a novel wideband bandpass filter making use of split ring resonator (SRR) as the basic ring resonant unit. The resonant characteristic of SRR is carefully studied through full wave analysis. The coupling of SRR structure is very effective that can be used to realize wideband filter with small insertion loss.

Tunable transmission and harmonic generation in nonlinear metamaterials
We study the properties of a tunable nonlinear metamaterial operating at microwave frequencies. We fabricate the nonlinear metamaterial composed of double split-ring resonators and wires where a varactor diode is introduced into each resonator so that ...
