CEACAM1 participation in breast cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In invasive breast cancer (BC), CEACAM1 shifts from an apical to a uniform membranous/cytoplasmic pattern, or is lost, as tumors dedifferentiate, inversely tracking the Ki‐67 proliferative index. In MCF‐7 cells, only CEACAM1‐4L suppresses proliferation, repressing cell cycle and growth factor genes.

Intrapatient tumour heterogeneity and clonal evolution in an autopsy study of metastatic salivary gland cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumour heterogeneity and clonal evolution of metastatic salivary gland cancer were evaluated in two patients with adenoid carcinoma and one patient with myoepithelial carcinoma. Radiology‐guided autopsy enabled multi‐region sampling (total samples n = 149), followed by whole‐genome sequencing and phylogenetic reconstruction (17 tumour samples, 4–7 per ...

Bridging the gap: a genetically validated avian chorioallantoic membrane platform for investigation of spontaneous circulating tumor cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established the avian chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) assay as a scalable in vivo model for studying circulating tumor cells (CTCs). Human gastrointestinal tumors spontaneously released genetically validated CTCs that were detected across multiple platforms, demonstrating that the CAM model provides an accessible tool for investigating early cancer ...

System component balancing in split type-air-conditioners

open access: yes, 2021
ÖZET Soğutma ve iklimlendirme sistemlerinde halen kullanılmakta olan ısı değiştiricilerin dizayn esaslarından birisi bileşenlerin seçimidir. Klasik termal dizayn metodlarında bileşenlerin seçimi yapılırken, her bileşen diğerlerinden farklı olarak düşünülür ve ayrı dizayn edilir.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Numerical Study of an Ejector as an Expansion Device in Split-type Air Conditioners for Energy Savings [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Engineering and Technological Sciences, 2013
The present study describes a numerical approach for determining both the motive nozzle and constant-area diameters of an ejector as an expansion device, based on the cooling capacity of a split-type air-conditioner using R290 as refrigerant. Previous studies have shown that replacement of HCFC R22 with HC290 (propane) in the air conditioner can ...

Experimental Study on the Leakage and Diffusion Performance of Flammable Refrigerant R32 in Split-type Air-conditioner

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2015
R32 is a potential alternative refrigerant for its environmental protection capability and thermal performance. But the slight flammability limits its application. Therefore, safety analysis is needed.

Study of Reactive Flow of Split-type Air Conditioners and Inverter Air Conditioners in the Consumer Units and the Public Electricity Companies

open access: yesRE&PQJ
This paper presents a study about the split-type and inverter air conditioners, in the context of billing and power quality. In field measurements using inverter air conditioners, it was observed that the injected reactive power flow on the bus is equivalent or greater than the consumed active power flow, thus influencing the power factor of the ...
