Feasible Geometrical Configurations for Split Torque Gearboxes With Idler Pinions
Journal of Mechanical Design, 2010The split torque gearbox is a practical solution to the transmission of high torques with the lowest possible weight. In this article, we perform the mathematics necessary to calculate possible solutions for the simultaneous meshing of four wheels on the basis of geometric conditioning factors.

A Split-Path Sensing Circuit for Spin Torque Transfer MRAM
IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Express Briefs, 2014As process technology scales down, sensing becomes difficult during read operations because the supply voltage, i.e., VDD, decreases and the process variation increases. Thus, a high enough sensing yield cannot be obtained with a conventional sensing circuit in deep submicron process technology.

Torsional Vibration Analysis of a Hydrodynamic Split Torque Transmission
Journal of Engineering for Industry, 1967The steady-state torsional vibration for one mode of an engine transmission system was analyzed, and the analysis was verified by experimental data. The engine transmission system included a diesel engine, torque divider which consisted of a fixed housing, single-stage torque converter and a planetary gear set, and a dynamometer.

New Electonically Controlled Torque Split 4WD System for Improving Cornering Performance
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1990<div class="htmlview paragraph">A new 4WD systen called the “ATTESA E-TS” has been developed based on a new approach to traction control. The E-TS system employs electronic control to achieve an optimm torque split ratio between the front and rear axles.

An Efficient Direct Torque Control Scheme for Split Phase Induction Motor
2007 7th International Conference on Power Electronics and Drive Systems, 2007In this paper, a predictive direct torque control (DTC) scheme for split phase induction machine (SPIM) is established. The induction motor has two sets of stator three-phase windings spatially shifted by 30 electrical degrees. The major drawback of SPIMs is occurrence of extra harmonic currents.

A Lightweight Split-Torque Transmission for a 330 KW Helicopter
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, 1982A simple split-torque gear train is used as the main rotor transmission of a single-engine helicopter. Overall speed reduction ratio achieved is 103:1 between the engine at a nominal 36 000 rev/min and the main rotor at 350 rev/min. This ratio is generated from three stages of fixed-axis gear trains containing only eight gears.

In designing control strategies to optimize fuel consumption, driveability and other objectives for hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), one can choose to use either power split or torque split as one of the control variables. While both approaches have been employed and documented, no systematic study has been reported that illuminates what implications ...

Analysis of the Synchronous Torques in a Split Phase Induction Motor
2007 7th International Conference on Power Electronics and Drive Systems, 2007This paper puts forward a method for calculating the synchronous torque dips in a split-phase induction machine. First it derives the equivalent circuits so that the torque speed/curve can be obtained over a full speed range (including asynchronous torque oscillations).
