Cooperative Behavior in the Ultimatum Game and Prisoner’s Dilemma Depends on Players’ Contributions
Economic games such as the Ultimatum Game (UG) and Prisoner’s Dilemma (PD) are widely used paradigms for studying fairness and cooperation. Monetary versions of these games involve two players splitting an arbitrary sum of money.

FMplex: Exploring a Bridge between Fourier-Motzkin and Simplex [PDF]
In this paper we present a quantifier elimination method for conjunctions of linear real arithmetic constraints. Our algorithm is based on the Fourier-Motzkin variable elimination procedure, but by case splitting we are able to reduce the worst-case ...

Split of an Optimization Variable in Game Theory [PDF]
In the present paper, a general multiobjective optimization problem is stated as a Nash game. In the nonrestrictive case of two objectives, we address the problem of the splitting of the design variable between the two players. The so-called territory splitting problem is solved by means of an allocative approach.

Fairness in competitive games such as the Ultimatum Game is often defined theoretically. According to some of the literature, in which fairness is determined only based on resource allocation, a proposal splitting resources evenly (i.e., 5:5) is ...

Interacting cells driving the evolution of multicellular life cycles.
Evolution of complex multicellular life began from the emergence of a life cycle involving the formation of cell clusters. The opportunity for cells to interact within clusters provided them with an advantage over unicellular life forms.

The dynamics of collective social behavior in a crowd controlled game
Despite many efforts, the behavior of a crowd is not fully understood. The advent of modern communication means has made it an even more challenging problem, as crowd dynamics could be driven by both human-to-human and human-technology interactions. Here,
