Variabilidad genética de Spongospora subterranea f. sp. subterranea en Colombia

2012
Powdery scab (Spongospora subterranea f. sp. subterranea - Sss) is one of the most important re-emerging diseases of potato crops in Colombia. Sss can cause severe root damage and compromise the quality of tubers. Moreover, Sss zoospores can also serve as vector of Potato mop-top virus (PMTV, Pomovirus).

Susceptibility of potato (Solanum tuberosum) cultivars to powdery scab (caused by Spongospora subterranea f. sp. subterranea), and relationships between tuber and root infection

Australasian Plant Pathology, 2003
Ninety-nine potato (Solanum tuberosum) cultivars and 13 breeding lines were assessed in field trials for susceptibility to powdery scab (caused by Spongospora subterranea f. sp. subterranea). The trials wer e carried out over 11 growing seasons (each cultivar/line tested in at least two growing seasons) in soil inoculated with S.

Spongospora subterranea f. sp. subterranea Affects Plant Susceptibility to Subsequent Pathogen Infections Under Controlled-Environment Conditions

Plant Disease
Spongospora subterranea f. sp. subterranea (Sss) is a soilborne potato pathogen responsible for causing powdery scab on tubers and galls on roots, reducing root water uptake through colonizing root hairs, and vectoring of Potato mop-top virus (PMTV).

Genetic variance models for the evaluation of resistance to powdery scab (Spongospora subterranea f. sp. subterranea) from long-term potato breeding trials

Euphytica, 2014
Breeding for resistance to soil-borne powdery scab in potato is an important component of the integrated management of this disease. Different genetic variance models within a mixed model framework were applied to data from long-term potato breeding trials, for the genetic evaluation of breeding lines.
