Exercise training corrects control of spontaneous calcium waves in hearts from myocardial infarction heart failure rats [PDF]
Impaired cardiac control of intracellular diastolic Ca2+ gives rise to arrhythmias. Whereas exercise training corrects abnormal cyclic Ca2+ handling in heart failure, the effect on diastolic Ca2 ...

Spontaneous emission from excited quantum kinks
Many kink solutions enjoy internal excitations, called shape modes. In some 1+1d scalar models, such as the ϕ 4 double-well model, when a kink’s shape mode is excited twice it may decay to a ground state kink plus a meson.

Simulations of the spontaneous emission of a quantum dot near a gap plasmon waveguide
In this paper we modeled a quantum dot at near proximity to a gap plasmon waveguide to study the quantum dot-plasmon interactions. Assuming that the waveguide is single mode, this paper is concerned about the dependence of spontaneous emission rate of ...

Strong Coupling Dynamics of a Quantum Emitter near a Topological Insulator Nanoparticle
We study the spontaneous emission dynamics of a quantum emitter near a topological insulator Bi2Se3 spherical nanoparticle. Using the electromagnetic Green’s tensor method, we find exceptional Purcell factors of the quantum emitter up to 1010 at ...

Electromagnetically induced phase grating controlled by spontaneous emission
Electromagnetically induced phase grating controlled by spontaneous emission is studied. The results show that the diffraction efficiency of phase grating is strikingly enhanced due to the existence of spontaneously generated coherence (SGC), and the ...

Benchmarking the Cumulant Expansion Method Using Dicke Superradiance
Collective superradiant decay of a tightly packed inverted quantum emitter ensemble is among the most intensely studied phenomena in quantum optics. Since the seminal work of Dicke more than half a century ago, a plethora of theoretical calculations in ...
