Nanoscale Spontaneous Parametric Down-Conversion

OSA Nonlinear Optics 2021, 2021
We generate entangled photons via spontaneous parametric down-conversion (SPDC) in subwavelength films of nonlinear materials and all-dielectric nonlinear metasurfaces. The SPDC spectra reveal resonances: Fabry-Perot in the first case and Mie in the second case.

Spontaneous parametric down-conversion

Journal of Experimental and Theoretical Physics Letters, 2005
Spontaneous parametric down-conversion (SPDC) in media with no inversion center and the use of this phenomenon in the spectroscopy of natural oscillation states of a crystal lattice (i.e., optical phonons) are retrospectively described. We think that the SPDC spectroscopy method is estimated inappropriately and hope to again attract the attention of ...

Spontaneous Parametric Down-Conversion in Nonlinear Metasurfaces

2021 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Europe & European Quantum Electronics Conference (CLEO/Europe-EQEC), 2021
Resonant nonlinear metasurfaces gained a lot of interest in the past decade because of their unique features such as subwavelength thickness and ability to control spatial and temporal properties of light. They have proved to be efficient for classical processes such as second-harmonic generation (SHG), but their potential in quantum nanophotonics ...

Producing Multiple Qubits via Spontaneous Parametric Down-Conversion

Physical Review Applied, 2021
We have designed Gaussian masks to subdivide the pump beam before passing it through a BBO. In this way, present an approach to possibly produce multiple entangled photon pairs through spontaneous parametric down-conversion (SPDC).

Significance of heralding in spontaneous parametric down-conversion

Physical Review A, 2014
Single photons exhibit nonclassical, counterintuitive behavior that can be exploited in the developing field of quantum technology. They are needed for various applications such as quantum key distribution, optical quantum information processing, quantum computing, intensity measurement standards, and others yet to be discovered in this developing ...

Quantum entanglement swapping with spontaneous parametric down conversion

SPIE Proceedings, 2003
Two remote parties that have never interacted each other can be entangled through entanglement swapping operation done by a third party. Currently existing entanglement swapping experiments are done probabilistically by postselection, i.e., once a successful swapping is verified, the resultant entanglement is destructed.

Cryogenic Degenerate Spontaneous Parametric Down-Conversion

Optica Quantum 2.0 Conference and Exhibition, 2023
We show a HOM dip between degenerate signal and idler photons at (1559.33 ± 0.05) nm from cryogenic integrated SPDC in lithium niobate, compatible with superconducting detectors. This is enabled by precise control over the cryogenic phase-matching.
