Testing Ultrafast Two-Photon Spectral Amplitudes via Optical Fibres

open access: yes, 2010
We test two-dimensional TPSA of biphoton light emitted via ultrafast spontaneous parametric down-conversion (SPDC) using the effect of group-velocity dispersion in optical fibres.

Two-Photon Polarization Interference for Pulsed SPDC in a PPKTP Waveguide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We study the spectral properties of Spontaneous Parametric Down Conversion in a periodically poled waveguided structure of KTP crystal pumped by ultra-short pulses. Our theoretical analysis reveals a strongly multimode and asymmetric structure of the two-

Highly Sensitive Electrochemical Biosensor Based on Hairy Particles with Controllable High Enzyme Loading and Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
For the first time, a highly sensitive electrochemical biosensor based on SiO2‐based hairy particles with a grafted PDMAEMA polymer brush containing a quantifiable and large amount of immobilized Laccase is reported. The fabricated biosensor exhibits a sensitivity of 0.14 A·m⁻¹, a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.1 µm, and a detection range of 0.3–750 µm,

Degenerate spontaneous parametric down-conversion in nonlinear metasurfaces

open access: yesOptics Express
We propose a simple scheme of degenerate spontaneous parametric down-conversion (SPDC) in nonlinear metasurfaces or photonic crystal slabs with quasi-guided modes. It employs a band crossing between even- and odd-parity quasi-guided mode bands inside the light cone (above the light line) and a selection rule in the conversion efficiency of the SPDC ...

Development Prospects and Enginering of Quantum Communication Systems in the Atmosphere

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2015
Scheme of quantum key distribution with polarization coding based on parametric scattering in the crystal PPKTP was desined. The possibility of application of this scheme, together with atmospheric satellites was researched. The possibility of changes to

Tuning the Dielectric Properties of Individual Clay Nanosheets by Interlayer Composition: Toward Nano‐Electret Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The dielectric properties of clays are studied on the level of individual monolayers and functional double stacks. The material breakdown characteristics and charge storage performance are analyzed. For illustration, a defined charge pattern representing a cuneiform character is produced, written into a microscopic clay tile, referencing the origins of

Analysis of the possibility of analog detectors calibration by exploiting Stimulated Parametric Down Conversion

open access: yes, 2008
Spontaneous parametric down conversion (SPDC) has been largely exploited as a tool for absolute calibration of photon-counting detectors, i.e detectors registering very small photon fluxes. In [J. Opt. Soc. Am.

Magnetic Control of Chiral Hybridized Phonon Magnetic Moments in Ferrimagnets Fe2‐xZnxMo3O8

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Helicity‐resolved magneto‐Raman spectroscopy reveals magnetic control of chiral phonon magnetic moments in polar ferrimagnet (ZnxFe2−xMo3O₈). Large spontaneous zero‐field phonon splittings, selective phonon–magnon coupling, and asymmetric Zeeman responses demonstrate that phonon chirality is governed by magnon‐phonon coupling and magnetization.

Spontaneous Parametric Down-Conversion and Quantum Entanglement

open access: yes, 2017
Quantum entanglement has been a topic of much research in modern physics, and an application in quantum computing is envisioned. This thesis address the use of polarization entangled photon pairs produced by spontaneous parametric down-conversion (SPDC) in entanglement transfer process and quantum computing. The simplicity of SPDC entanglement relative

An All‐Optical Driven Bio‐Photovoltaic Interface for Active Control of Live Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bio‐photovoltaic Interface (BIO‐PV‐I) for live cell manipulation is presented. BIO‐PV‐I can be activated non‐invasively and remotely to control the spatial motility, adhesion, and morphology of cells adhering to it. BIO‐PV‐I uses a patterned light‐induced electric potential in iron‐doped lithium niobate crystals whose light‐driven and reversible nature,
