Amplified spontaneous Raman scattering in fiber Raman amplifiers
Journal of Lightwave Technology, 1986Amplified spontaneous Raman scattered light power in forward and backward Raman amplifiers is theoretically and experimentally studied under the assumption of the constant Raman gain coefficient in the bandwidth of an optical filter. On the basis of the results, the power ratio of the amplified signal to amplified spontaneous scattering is discussed ...

Amplified spontaneous Raman scattering and gain in fiber Raman amplifiers
Journal of Lightwave Technology, 1985The spectrum of amplified spontaneous Raman scattering and gain in a fiber Raman amplifer has been calculated analytically as a function of distance and pump power. The model used makes no assumptions on the magnitude of the gain and considers the pump nondepletion region.

Spontaneous Raman and Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering Bioimaging
2021Raman spectroscopy is a specific, noninvasive and nondestructive optical technique and is able to obtain chemical information from molecules. Optical imaging based on Raman spectroscopy has been a powerful technique for monitoring minute chemical changes of biological samples and generating images through direct or indirect strategies.

The buildup of stimulated Raman scattering from spontaneous Raman scattering
Optics Communications, 1981Abstract We present a quantum electrodynamic theory which shows for the first time how stimulated Raman scattering builds up, both spatially and temporally, from spontaneous Raman scattering. We analytically solve operator Maxwell-Bloch equations to find the Stokes field operator, and thus the Stokes intensity, for both monochromatic and broad-band ...

Spontaneous Raman scattering in ultrasmall silicon waveguides
Optics Letters, 2004We report spontaneous Raman scattering at 1550 nm in ultrasmall silicon-on-insulator (SOI) strip waveguides of 0.098-microm2 cross-sectional area. The submicrometer-scale dimensions provide tight optical confinement and, hence, highly efficient Raman scattering with milliwatt-level cw pump powers.

Stimulated Raman scattering and spontaneous Raman solitons in ammonia
Infrared Physics & Technology, 1998Abstract In this study we report the first observation of spontaneous Raman solitons in stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) by the gas NH 3 . The scattered radiation is called Stokes radiation. Raman solitons are of considerable interest, because their existence can be explained by quantum-mechanical fluctuations of the electromagnetic field in vacuum.
