Nematicon-enhanced spontaneous symmetry breaking [PDF]
We investigate topological and optical spontaneous symmetry breaking in nematic liquid crystals subject to the Fréedericksz transition. Specular nematicon states couple to mirrored distributions of the director due to symmetry breaking, with transverse velocities controlled by beam power in the strong nonlinear regime. Hysteresis in transverse velocity

Low-Lying Excited States of Quantum Antiferromagnets on a Triangular Lattice
We study low-lying states of the XY and Heisenberg antiferromagnets on a triangular lattice to clarify whether spontaneous symmetry breaking occurs at $T=0$ in the thermodynamic limit.

Structured, Shaped, or Printed Single‐Atom Catalysts and Their Applications
This paper reviews the design and use of structured single‐atom catalysts, which integrate porous architectures with the exceptional reactivity of isolated catalytic sites. It explores fabrication strategies, advanced characterization methods, and support materials that enhance thermal stability, mechanical robustness, and operational efficiency of ...

Electroweak SU(2)L × U(1)Y model with strong spontaneously fermion-mass-generating gauge dynamics
Higgs sector of the Standard model (SM) is replaced by quantum flavor dynamics (QFD), the gauged flavor SU(3) f symmetry with scale Λ. Anomaly freedom requires addition of three ν R .

Curling Liquid Crystal Microswimmers: A Cascade of Spontaneous Symmetry Breaking. [PDF]
We report curling self-propulsion in aqueous emulsions of common mesogenic compounds. Nematic liquid crystal droplets self-propel in a surfactant solution with concentrations above the critical micelle concentration while undergoing micellar ...

High‐Entropy Magnetism of Murunskite
The study of murunskite (K2FeCu3S4) reveals that its magnetic and orbital order emerges in a simple I4/mmm crystal structure with complete disorder in the transition metal positions. Mixed‐valence Fe ions randomly occupy 1/4 of the tetrahedral sites, with the remaining 3/4 being filled by non‐magnetic Cu+ ions.

On-shell constructibility of Born amplitudes in spontaneously broken gauge theories
We perform a comprehensive study of on-shell recursion relations for Born amplitudes in spontaneously broken gauge theories and identify the minimal shifts required to construct amplitudes with a given particle content and spin quantum numbers.

Spontaneous symmetry breaking and the cosmological constant
An approach that allows studying the relationship between the neutralization of the cosmological constant and instantons for cosmology coupled to antisymmetric fields is proposed. Using suitable variables, the Lagrangian leading to the FRW equations can be written analogously to a Ginzburg–Landau theory, and we show how spontaneous symmetry breaking ...
