Sporogenesis in Streptomyces melanochromogenes
Archives of Microbiology, 1978The mode of spore differentiation in a strain of Streptomyces melanochromogenes was followed by analysis of ultrathin sections of sporulating aerial hyphae at various stages of sporogenesis. A special accent was laid on the formation of the sporulation septum and its alterations in the course of spore delimitation and separation.

Accumulation of Free Proline during Yeast Sporogenesis
Nature, 1963ALTHOUGH the composition of the pool of free amino-acids in the yeast cell has been much investigated, this has been done using commercially supplied yeast1,2 or vegetative cells from growth cultures3,4. No work has been reported on the amino-acid content of sporulated cells. We have undertaken to compare vegetative, sporulating and sporulated cells in

Sporogenesis of a myxosporidan with motile spores
Cell and Tissue Research, 1979Three types of cells comprise each Fabespora vermicola sporoblast: valvogenic (VAV), capsulogenic (CAP), and germinative (GEM). Walls, polar caps, and sutures are the main assemblages produced by the VAV cells. The unique polar cap organelle extends over the aperture region of the polar capsule component of the CAP cell.

Sporogenesis and gametogenesis of some Boraginaceae
Feddes Repertorium, 1992AbstractEmbryological details pertaining to the development and structure of anther and ovule, sporogenesis, gametogenesis and gametophytes of 9 species of 7 genera belonging to Boraginaceae are described. Anther is tetrasporangiate with ‘Dicotyledonous type’ of wall development.

Sporogenesis 1n simple land plants
1991Abstract Quadripartitioning of the sporocyte into a tetrad of spores during meiosis is one of the most distinct examples of precise geometrical division in the plant kingdom. The cytoskeleton is of fundamental importance in the establishment and maintenance of quadripolarity.

Substructural study of sporogenesis in Streptomyces griseus
Zeitschrift für allgemeine Mikrobiologie, 1984AbstractA Streptomyces griseus strain deficient in the formation of aerial mycelium and arthrospore development (Amy−) was studied by electron microscopy and compared with the sporulating parental strain (Amy+). The investigations were performed with colonies grown on solid medium.

Sporogenesis in Reboulia hemisphaerica
Botanical Gazette, 19261. The premeiotic protoplast shrinks away from its angular sporogenous walls. Within the space created it secretes a special external membrane that functions as the wall of the spore mother cell. 2. A marked contraction of the nuclear network is preliminary to the reduction division.

Sporogenesis, gametogenesis, and progamic phase in Alstroemeria
Canadian Journal of Botany, 1996The sexual reproduction biology of Alstroemeria was studied histologically. The processes of sporogenesis and gametogenesis were described in relation to the development of the male and female organs. Comparative developmental stages in Alstroemeria take much longer than they do in tobacco.

Sporogenesis and Pollen Grain Formation
1981Pollen grains and the spores of nonseed vascular plants1 develop from diploid somatic cells in a largely identical way. Ultimately, the cells are characterized by a highly ordered cell wall, the so-called sporoderm (Figs. 1 and 2). Both the chemical and the principal ultrastructural features of sporoderms show little Variation in different taxa ...

1989
Publisher Summary In a microsporangium there are several hundred sporogenous cells that consequently yield many pollen grains, while in a megasporangium the single tetrad is formed from only one. The term sporogenous cell may then be applied to any destined to give rise to a meiotic cell once the archaesporium has differentiated, the remainder ...
