Current Models to Study the Sporothrix-Host Interaction
Sporotrichosis is a worldwide distributed subcutaneous mycosis that affects mammals, including human beings. The infection is caused by members of the Sporothrix pathogenic clade, which includes Sporothrix schenckii, Sporothrix brasiliensis, and ...

A Novel In Vitro Host-Pathogen Model for Felis catus and Sporothrix Zoonotic Species Investigation. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Hyperendemic zoonotic sporotrichosis, attributed to Sporothrix brasiliensis, presents a significant public health challenge in Brazil. Cats exhibit severe symptoms and high fungal loads, though their susceptibility is unclear. Sporothrix schenckii can also cause feline disease, primarily seen in Asia.

Microbiological Isolation of Sporothrix Schenckii in an Immunocompromised Patient. A Case Report
Sporotrichosis is a subcutaneous mycosis with a variable course caused by a fungus of the genus Sporothrix. We present the case of 67-year-old white patient of rural origin with a history of myelofibrosis that had evolved for ten years and was treated ...

Virulence Factors of Sporothrix schenckii
Sporothrix schenckii is one of the etiological agents of sporotrichosis. In this review, we discuss the virulence factors that have been proven to participate in the S. schenckii-host interaction. Among these known factors, we can find cell wall glycoproteins, adhesins, melanin, extracellular vesicles, and dimorphism.
