TMC4 localizes to multiple taste cell types in the mouse taste papillae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Transmembrane channel‐like 4 (TMC4), a voltage‐dependent chloride channel, plays a critical role in amiloride‐insensitive salty taste transduction. TMC4 is broadly expressed in all mature taste cell types, suggesting a possible involvement of multiple cell types in this pathway.

Effect of increased venous blood flow with acute passive heating on volume and compliance in the calf vein in young adults

open access: yesPhysiological Reports
Arterial endothelial function—impairment of which is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease—increases after acute passive heating; however, whether venous properties (volume and compliance) also increase remains unclear. Moreover, it is unknown whether

Impairments of intestinal arginine and NO metabolisms trigger aging-associated intestinal barrier dysfunction and ‘inflammaging'

open access: yesRedox Biology, 2022
Aging is considered a state of low grade inflammation, occurring in the absence of any overt infection often referred to as ‘inflammaging'. Maintaining intestinal homeostasis may be a target to extend a healthier status in older adults.

Erythropoietin modulates hepatic inflammation, glucose homeostasis, and soluble epoxide hydrolase and epoxides in high‐fat diet‐induced obese mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Erythropoietin administration suppresses hepatic soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) expression, leading to increased CYP‐derived epoxides. This is associated with a shift in hepatic macrophage polarization characterized by reduced M1 markers and increased M2 markers, along with reduced hepatic inflammation, suppressed hepatic lipogenesis, and attenuated ...

Changes in Immune‐Inflammation Status and Acute Ischemic Stroke Prognosis in Prospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Inflammation is a critical risk factor for poor outcomes in cerebral infarction. Prior studies focused primarily on baseline inflammation status, neglecting dynamic longitudinal changes. We try to investigate the association between immune‐inflammation status alterations and stroke prognosis, and evaluated three systemic biomarkers'
