Effect of Spot Weld Indentation on Spot Weld Nugget Characterization
2018 IEEE International Ultrasonics Symposium (IUS), 2018When using the ultrasonic attenuation to size the nugget in the C-scan image, the contribution of indentation to ultrasonic wave attenuation will affect the accuracy of sizing the nugget. In the current chapter we debate a joining process called resistance spot welding which finds many applications ranging from the automobile industry to robotics.
