Resistance Spot Welding

2017
In the current chapter we debate a joining process called resistance spot welding which finds many applications ranging from the automobile industry to robotics. In the first part of the chapter we present the construction of a non-local mathematical model illustrating the phase transition occurs during this joining process.

Impact of the Switching Frequency on the Welding Current of a Spot-Welding System

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2017
This paper deals with an analysis of a middle-frequency resistance spot-welding (RSW) system with a dc welding current controlled by a pulsewidth modulated inverter, which supplies a welding transformer with a full-wave rectifier mounted at the secondary.

Parametric optimization of resistance spot welding for multi spot welded lap shear specimen to predict weld strength

Materials Today: Proceedings, 2019
Abstract This paper examining the impact of welding parameters, by parametric investigation of multi spot welded lap shear specimen, on the tensile shear strength of spot welded specimen. Further, study is carried out, to develop mathematical model by using regression analysis which shows relationship between selected welding parameters and weld ...

Resistance Spot Welding

1993
Abstract Resistance spot welding (RSW) is a process in which faying surfaces are joined in one or more spots by the heat generated by resistance to the flow of electric current through workpieces that are held together under force by electrodes. This article discusses the major advantages of spot welding and the three principal elements,

Spot welding applications

1980
Welding is the process of joining metals by fusing them together. This is unlike soldering or brazing where joints are made by adhesion between two surfaces alloyed with a metal of a lower melting point, such as lead, tin or silver.
