Alimentary Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.Capsule sponge sampling with Endosign provides a safe, feasible and acceptable alternative to endoscopic biopsy for monitoring eosinophilic oesophagitis. In 164 paired assessments, eosinophil counts on capsule sponge cytology showed a strong correlation with endoscopic biopsy histology.
