ACUICULTURA DE PARGO LA MANCHA LUTJANUS GUTTATUS (STEINDACHNER, 1869) EN COSTA RICA DENTRO DE UN ENFOQUE ECOSISTÉMICO

open access: yesRevista Ciencias Marinas y Costeras, 2011
La sobreexplotación pesquera y la búsqueda de alternativas ante la pobreza crónica han llevado a explorar el campo de la maricultura por medio de un enfoque ecosistémico se abrieron dos procesos paralelos: una estrategia e; investigación en laboratorio ...

From ‘Lack of Insight’ to Being a Knower: A Personal Turning Point in Psychiatric Inpatient Care

open access: yesJournal of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background At times, the psychiatric inpatient system pathologizes patient perspectives as ‘lack of insight’, framing survival strategies as DSM symptoms. In these moments, power imbalances emerge that risk silencing patients' experiential knowledge.

Targeted Modulation of Eukaryotic Release Factor 1 (OseRF1) by an RNA Aptamer Enhances Drought Adaptation in Rice

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Drought stress severely restricts rice productivity, necessitating strategies to enhance stress resilience. Here, we identify translation termination as a tunable regulatory node for stress adaptation. Using 25 rounds of SELEX, we isolated RTAR, an RNA aptamer that binds the rice eukaryotic release factor 1 (OseRF1) with nanomolar affinity ...

El papel de los manglares como criaderos de pargo (Lutjanidae) en el Golfo de Chiriquí

open access: yes, 2021
Mangroves are recognized as key environments for breeding and reproduction of fishes. To test this hypothesis we evaluated data on the size and reproductive conditions of snapper captured in the gulfs of Montijo and David, between 2010 and 2014. The main

A Quarter Century of EHD Protein Research: From Endosomal Recycling to Ciliopathies

open access: yesTraffic, Volume 27, Issue 3, September 2026.
Human EHD protein subcellular localization. ABSTRACT Eps15 homology domain‐containing proteins comprise a conserved family of membrane‐remodeling ATPases that regulate endocytic trafficking, membrane fission, receptor recycling, primary ciliogenesis and membrane dynamics across eukaryotes. Since the initial identification of EHD1 and its Caenorhabditis

The House Appropriations Committee Surveys & Investigations Staff and the Arc of Congressional Competence

open access: yesLegislative Studies Quarterly, Volume 51, Issue 3, August 2026.
ABSTRACT This article follows the arc of congressional competence through the development and decline of the House Appropriations Committee (HAC) Surveys & Investigations (S&I) staff, an enduring oversight unit whose investigations were unobserved by design. S&I was quietly reorganized out of existence in December 2024. Why? What, if anything, is lost?

Effect of short term starvation on hematological and blood bio chemical parameters in juvenile spotted rose snapper (Lutjanus guttatus) (Steindachner, 1869)

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Aquatic Research, 2019
This study evaluated the effect of short-term starvation on biological condition indices, hematological parameters and blood biochemical composition of reared spotted rose snapper Lutjanus guttatus . Triplicate groups of juvenile fish were subjected to different feeding treatments: fed for 14 days (Group A or control); fed for seven days followed by ...

Al and Cu Oxalates in Li‐Ion Battery Electrolytes: Comparative Observations and Recycling Consequences

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 13, Issue 14, 17 July 2026.
We evaluated Al‐ and Cu‐oxalates as model contaminants in LP30 electrolyte for NMC811‖graphite cells. In vinylene carbonate (VC)‐free electrolytes, cells retain capacity and impedance at maximum oxalate loading; the introduction of VC, however, triggers increased internal resistance, accelerated capacity fade, and Al‐containing surface films.
