Social values of biodiversity conservation for the endangered loggerhead turtle and monk seal [PDF]
The Mediterranean monk seal (Monachus monachus) and the loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta) are two species on the priority list for conservation in Greece due to their dwindling populations worldwide. Hence the issue of estimating willingness to pay for

Moiré‐Induced Symmetry Breaking of Charge Order in van der Waals Heterostructures
A uniaxial moiré potential in misfit (MS)1+δTaS2 heterostructures selectively reshape charge order: the embedded 1H‐TaS2 layer hosts an incommensurate charge‐density wave, fragmented into nanometer domains and stripped of threefold symmetry. Superconductivity, however, remains uniform and fully gapped, revealing heterosymmetry stacking as a selective ...

Legislating the blind spot : the EU seal regime and the Newfoundland seal hunt
In September 2009 the European Union adopted Regulation 1007/2009 on trade in seal products (Basic Regulation) due to concerns over the welfare of seals in the non-indigenous commercial seal hunts, particularly in Canada. Throughout the policy-making process these moral concerns were a crucial element of the political will to bar seal products from the

Redox‐Confined Interfacial Polymerization Enables Mechanically Robust and Self‐Adhesive Nanofilms
Redox‐confined polymerization of a simple thiol monomer at a water‐organic interface generates robust freestanding films with nanoscale thickness. The resulting disulfide‐crosslinked nanofilms combine high stiffness with intrinsic adhesion to soft substrates, enabling conformal contact with artificial skin without additional functionalization.

Gastropods and their participation in transmission of Trichinella spp. in water biocenosis
Trichinellosis is a dangerous zoonotic disease caused with nematode Trichi- nella spp. Trichinella have a strongly pronounced polyhostality. The spectrum of their hosts covers more than 150 species of animals including sea mammals.

Halogen Surface Terminations in Ti3C2 MXenes for Interface Engineering in Perovskite Solar Cells
Controlled halogen surface terminations in Ti3C2${\rm Ti}_3{\rm C}_2$ MXenes enable the isolation of structure‐property relationships, revealing how –Cl and –Br terminations influence interlayer spacing, electronic behavior, and work function. When incorporated into IT‐4F‐based interfacial layers, these MXenes modulate interfacial processes and device ...

First record of an Australian fur seal (Arctocephalus pusillus doriferus) feeding on a wobbegong shark (Orectolobus ornatus) [PDF]
The Australian fur seal (Arctocephalus pusillus doriferus) is listed as a ‘vulnerable’ species in New South Wales (NSW) under the Threatened Species Conservation Act, recovering from exploitation by commercial sealing activities around southeastern ...
