To spray or not to spray?

Waterlines, 1998
Pesticides are persuasively marketed with the promise that they will 'cure all'; yet there are pressures — including safety concerns — which discourage pesticide dependency. Is a pragmatic middle road the best option?

Spray Modelling in Spray Forming

Multiphase Flow and Heat Transfer in Materials Processing, 1994
Abstract In a common point of view, metallurgical spray applications can be devided into the unit operations: atomization / particle injection - particle transport / heat transfer -impingement / compaction. In this contribution, the Eulerian / Lagrangian way of dispersed two-phase flow in sprays with momentum and heat transfer has ...

Spray Drying, Spray Pyrolysis and Spray Freeze Drying

2010
In conventional spray pyrolysis (CSP or simply SP), a solution is sprayed into a carrier gas forming small droplets; owing to the high temperature of the surrounding gas, the solvent is vaporized and the solute is precipitated on and within the droplets. If the air temperature is high enough, solute is decomposed to form final solid particles.

VALIDATION OF THE VSB2 SPRAY MODEL AGAINST SPRAY A AND SPRAY H

Atomization and Sprays, 2016
The modeling of spray breakup and evaporation is very complex, and several different models have been developed to describe the physical processes involved in these phenomena. However, problems of grid dependence, instability, and tuning issues remain to be adressed.

Effects of spray height and spray angle on spray deposition in tobacco plants

2011 6th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications, 2011
Due to the decreasing availability of authorized plant protection products, adequate pest control becomes more difficult in tobacco. Although much attention is given to predator-pest interactions in integrated control, almost no research is available about the optimization of spray application techniques in tobacco plants.

Spray rendering

IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications, 1994
Spray rendering provides a framework for creating and experimenting with different visualization techniques. The name spray rendering is derived from the metaphor of using a virtual spray can to paint data sets. Varying the type of paint in the can highlights data in different ways. Spray rendering is not limited to the paint metaphor, however.
