External Organic Nitrogen Supply by Atmospheric Aerosols is Important Over the Northwest Pacific Ocean

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 11, 16 June 2026.
Abstract Aerosol organic nitrogen (AON) is an important fraction of atmospheric N deposition over the open ocean. However, it is unclear how much of the AON is of external origin or internally recycled from the ocean. Here, we quantified AON over the Northwest Pacific Ocean using a newly developed Aerosol Nitrogen Analyzer and investigated its chemical

Carbon‐Supported NiZnO Nanoparticles for Electrochemical Reduction of CO2 to Hydrocarbons

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 27, Issue 11, 15 June 2026.
Electronic interaction between nickel and zinc (oxide) in highly dispersed NiO‐ZnO nanoparticles on carbon support leads to improved Faradaic efficiency to C1−3 hydrocarbons in CO2 electroreduction at low ZnO concentrations (20:1 Ni: Zn ratio). Higher ZnO content (10:1 Ni:Zn ratio) favors the competing hydrogen evolution reaction, while only CO was ...

Pure Water‐Fed Photoelectrochemical Water Splitting Using a Porous WO3 Electrode Surface‐Modified With Perfluorosulfonic Acid Ionomer

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 11, 15 June 2026.
This study demonstrates a proton exchange membrane (PEM)‐based photoelectrochemical (PEC) system for pure‐water splitting using a porous tungsten oxide (WO3) photoanode coated with a perfluorosulfonic acid (PFSA) ionomer. Proton transport at the WO3 surface is the rate‐limiting step for oxygen evolution, and the ionomer surface modification is ...

Numerical Thermal‐Hydraulic Evaluation of an Integrated Direct‐Indirect Oil Cooling System for an Electric Motor Under Steady‐State Overload Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Theory and Simulations, Volume 9, Issue 6, June 2026.
This study evaluates an integrated direct‐indirect oil cooling system for electric motor thermal management under steady‐state overload conditions. The results show that the combined cooling architecture improves heat removal from the winding, stator, and housing while balancing pressure drop penalties.
