Clinical periodontal diagnosis

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Periodontal diseases include pathological conditions elicited by the presence of bacterial biofilms leading to a host response. In the diagnostic process, clinical signs such as bleeding on probing, development of periodontal pockets and gingival recessions, furcation involvement and presence of radiographic bone loss should be assessed prior ...

Comparative experimental study on macroscopic spray characteristics of various oxygenated diesel fuels

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering, 2023
Under high ambient pressure (5 MPa) and different injection pressures (90, 120, and 150 MPa), a high‐speed imaging technique was carried out to comparatively investigate the macroscopic spray characteristics of diesel with three different types of ...

Effect of geometric parameters on spray characteristics of air assisted pressure swirl atomizer

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2022
In the present work, a modified Pressure Swirl Atomizer (PSA) was introduced to operate as an Assisted Pressure Swirl Atomizer (AAPSA). Different mass flow rates of assisted air were experimentally tested. The studied parameters are the orifice length to

Effect of Particle Diameter on Primary Breakup of High-Pressure Diesel Spray Atomization: A Study Based on Numerical Simulations Using the Eulerian–Lagrangian Model

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
The coupling of Eulerian and Lagrangian methods in the Eulerian–Lagrangian Spray Atomization (ELSA) approach is critical. This study proposes an equation for the primary breakup particle diameter D of a diesel fuel spray and adopts it as a key transition

Effect of Viscosities on the Spray Characteristics of Pressure Swirl Nozzle

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics, 2020
The effects of medium viscosity on the spray flow rate, spray Sauter Mean Diameter, droplet velocity and spray cone angle of pressure swirl nozzles are investigated by making use of the particle dynamics analysis system and high-speed photographic system.

Single string cavitation and swirling flow in a nozzle and a hollow-cone spray

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology
Single string cavitation (SC) and a swirling flow around it may occur in a fuel injector of diesel engines at the moment of low needle lift, if the tip of the needle valve is close to the nozzle entrance.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Deposition of spray droplets by four spray nozzles and two working pressures

open access: yesRevista Agrogeoambiental, 2023
The deposition of spray droplets on the target can be influenced by the type spray nozzle used, as well as the employed working pressure. Thus, with the commercial availability of new spray nozzles, performance studies with the new models become ...
