Implications of bio-efficacy and persistence of insecticides when indoor residual spraying and longlasting insecticide nets are combined for malaria prevention. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Bio-efficacy and residual activity of insecticides used for indoor residual spraying (IRS) and long-lasting insecticide nets (LLINs) were assessed against laboratory-reared and wild populations of the malaria vector, Anopheles arabiensis in south eastern

Effect of different levels of drought stress and growth regulators on yield and yield components of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) [PDF]

open access: yesپژوهش‌های حبوبات ایران, 2019
Introduction Legumes have great nutritional value and are an important source of vegetable protein. Population growth in recent decades has led to increased consumption of protein, especially red meat.

Ecological and Sociodemographic Determinants of House Infestation by Triatoma infestans in Indigenous Communities of the Argentine Chaco [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The Gran Chaco ecoregion, a hotspot for Chagas and other neglected tropical diseases, is home to >20 indigenous peoples. Our objective was to identify the main ecological and sociodemographic determinants of house infestation and abundance of Triatoma ...

High Effective Coverage of Vector Control Interventions in Children After Achieving Low Malaria Transmission in Zanzibar, Tanzania. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
\ud \ud Formerly a high malaria transmission area, Zanzibar is now targeting malaria elimination. A major challenge is to avoid resurgence of malaria, the success of which includes maintaining high effective coverage of vector control interventions such ...

Effect of subsequent yield surface on residual stress in 3D numerical simulation of laser cladding process

open access: yesMechanical Engineering Journal
Laser cladding (LC) is an advantageous surface modification technique. However, in the case of a thin substrate or a large process area to substrate, large thermal distortions could be generated, which can affect the dimensional accuracy of machinery ...

Influence of Grinding Methodology and Particle Size on Coal and Wood Co-Combustion via Injection Flame Opening Angle

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
Today, more than 61% of the world’s electricity is generated by burning fossil fuels. The search for reducing the negative impact of such thermal power plants on the environment does not stop for a minute, one of the solutions to this problem is the ...

Drop impact on superheated surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
At impact of a liquid droplet on a smooth surface heated above the liquid's boiling point, the droplet either immediately boils when it contacts the surfaces (``contact boiling''), or without any surface contact forms a Leidenfrost vapor layer towards ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.
