Accurate prediction of springback after coining operation
A common approach used to reduce springback in flanging operations is to apply additional coining around the bent regions. In this strategy, the sheet metal part is compressed between two rigid dies having a clearance less than the sheet thickness. The aim is to bring additional compressive stresses especially around bending dominated regions.

Metamodeling of Void Closure during Hot Flat Rolling
This work aims to present a fast metamodel for void closure during hot flat rolling. The model takes into account every individual void of void distributions as found in industrial material and is capable of calculating the resulting void closure within only few seconds of computational time without loosing significant accuracy compared to expensive ...

Finite element simulation of twist forming process to study twist springback pattern
Springback is one of the most common defects found in the metal forming of automotive parts. There are three conditions which can be considered as springback i.e. flange angle change, sidewall curl and twist springback and among them, twist springback is

Finite Element Simulation for Springback Prediction Compensation
An accurate modelling of the sheet metal deformations including the springback prediction is one of the key factors in the efficient utilisation of Finite Element Method (FEM) process simulation in industrial application. Assuming that springback can be predicted accurately, there still remains the problem of how to use such results to appear at a ...
