Intergenerational Learning in the Workplace. What About Academic Staff at Higher Education Institutions?

open access: yesInternational Journal of Training and Development, Volume 30, Issue 1, Page 82-92, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Demographic development and hiring and retirement policies in higher education institutions (HEIs) have promoted the coexistence of different generations in university departments. Intergenerational learning (IGL) processes in the workplace are crucial for improving both individual and institutional well‐being and performance.

Epidermal Cell Dynamics Regulates Rice Lamina Joint Morphogenesis and Leaf Angle Formation through OsZHD1 and OsZHD2 Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 9, 13 February 2026.
The lamina joint determines leaf angle and plant architecture. Xu et al. establish a live‐imaging system for the rice lamina joint and reveal that asymmetric epidermal cell elongation and division between the lateral and medial edges drive leaf angle formation.

Evaluation of CERES‐Maize Model for Predicting Yield, Evapotranspiration, Water Productivity and Drought Stress Indices Under Center Pivot, Subsurface Drip and Furrow Irrigation Systems With Different Irrigation Levels Simultaneously

open access: yesIrrigation and Drainage, Volume 75, Issue 1, Page 372-389, February 2026.
ABSTRACT The effects of different irrigation methods (center pivot [CPI], subsurface drip [SDI] and furrow irrigation [FI]) and levels (full irrigation treatment [FIT], 80% FIT, 60% FIT and rainfed) on yield, crop evapotranspiration (ETc), ET‐water productivity (WPET) and drought stress index for leaf expansion (SIE) and photosynthesis (SIP) of maize ...

Nutrition Management Strategies for the Adaptation of Cull Beef Heifers to Feedlot

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Agricultural Research, Volume 69, Issue 1, February 2026.
Providing diets with high roughage in the first days of confinement is the common way of adapting beef cattle to intensive production. However, it is possible to offer the final finishing diet from the first day of adaptation. Our objective was to compare a traditional adaptation protocol, in which animals received a diet with a higher proportion of ...

Understanding Farmer Perspectives of Cow Heat Stress in the Waikato and Canterbury Regions of New Zealand

open access: yesNew Zealand Journal of Agricultural Research, Volume 69, Issue 1, February 2026.
This study quantified farmer knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to heat stress in dairy cows to inform future research and extension. A telephone survey was conducted across higher‐risk regions—Waikato/Bay of Plenty and Canterbury/North Otago. A total of 353 surveys were completed (84% response rate).
