Effects of 6-week change-of-direction repeated sprint training on explosive power, sprint, and COD performance in U19 basketball players

open access: yesBMC Sports Science, Medicine and Rehabilitation
Background Basketball requires repeated high-intensity actions such as sprinting, jumping, and change-of-direction (COD) movements. Therefore, repeated sprint training incorporating COD actions may be an effective strategy to improve basketball-specific ...

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Biomechanical structure of sprint start and effect of biological feedback methods on sprint start performance

open access: yesTürk Spor ve Egzersiz Dergisi, 2014
One of the profound factors that affect sprint performance of athletes is the transfer of the possible highest propulsive force onto the starting blocks using an ideal sprint start body position.

Effects of Resisted Versus Non-Resisted Sprint Training on Countermovement Jump and Sprint Force–Velocity Profile in Youth Footballers: A Randomised Controlled Trial

open access: yesSports
Background: In youth football, sprint performance depends on the capacity to produce and orient force horizontally during acceleration. Resisted sprinting may preferentially target the force end of the sprint force–velocity profile, whereas free ...

Translating whole‐genome doubling into precision medicine in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Whole‐genome doubling creates a WGD‐positive tumor state characterized by persistent chromosomal instability, karyotypic diversification, and cellular stress. These same biological pressures drive aggressive tumor evolution while exposing therapeutic vulnerabilities, providing a rationale for WGD‐informed precision medicine. Whole‐genome doubling (WGD)

Implementing resisted and unresisted sprint training across multiple sports: practical guidelines and considerations

open access: yesHuman Movement
Given the critical importance of sprinting, particularly its role in performance enhancement (e.g., acceleration capacity and maximal sprint speed during decisive actions) and injury prevention (e.g., hamstring protection), this article provides an up-to-

Influence of hypohydration on intermittent sprint performance in the heat [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Purpose: To examine the effect of hypohydration on physiological strain and intermittent sprint exercise performance in the heat (35.5 ± 0.6°C, 48.7 ± 3.4% relative humidity).

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Resisted Sprint Training Impact on Sprint Performance across Distances

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐
