Biofortification of soybean sprouts with zinc and bioaccessibility of zinc in the sprouts

Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 2014
AbstractBACKGROUNDSoybean sprouts are a very popular vegetable in Southeast Asian countries and regions. Zinc‐rich soybean sprouts can help to improve Zn deficiency in humans. The aim of this study was to prepare Zn‐enriched soybean sprouts through agronomic biofortification (germination with ZnSO4 solution) in order to provide consumers with a dietary

Influence of sprout tip necrosis and rosette sprout formation on internal sprouting of potatoes

American Potato Journal, 1969
Sprouts of potato tubers allowed to develop in a dark, dry environment at 60 F developed tip necrosis which was alleviated by application of calcium salts. Successive removal of sprout tips at an eye led to the formation of sprout clusters of sufficient density to cause penetration of the tuber by new sprouts arising from the cluster.

Cryptanalysis of Full Sprout

2015
A new method for reducing the internal state size of streamcipher registers has been proposed in FSE 2015, allowing to reduce thearea in hardware implementations. Along with it, an instantiated proposalof a cipher was also proposed: Sprout. In this paper, we analyzethe security of Sprout, and we propose an attack that recovers the wholekey more than ...

Sprouting a warfarin interaction

BMJ, 2010
A 70 year old woman was admitted with increasing shortness of breath and feeling generally unwell. The onset of these symptoms had coincided with a mild worsening of her angina. Her medical history included recurrent pulmonary emboli for which she was on lifelong warfarin (15 mg/day, international normalised ratio (INR) stable and therapeutic), an ...

Brussels Sprout Decapitation Yields Larger Sprouts of Superior Quality

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2016
A common technological practice in Brussels sprouts (Brassica oleracea L. var. gemmifera) production is the removal of apical plant section a few weeks before harvest in order to promote the development of auxiliary buds (sprouts) and ensure higher yields.

Some Results on Sprout

2015
Sprout is a lightweight stream cipher proposed by Armknecht and Mikhalev at FSE 2015. It has a Grain-like structure with two state Registers of size 40 bits each, which is exactly half the state size of Grain v1. In spite of this, the cipher does not appear to lose in security against generic Time-Memory-Data Tradeoff attacks due to the novelty of its ...

Sprouting epidermoid cysts

British Journal of Plastic Surgery, 2000
Five unusually shaped (i.e. 'sprouting') epidermoid cysts in the upper lip, elbow and foot are reported. The tumours seldom produced symptoms. The maximum diameter was 25-48 mm. The complete removal including a sprouting bud is necessary. Histologically, partial to complete cyst wall rupture was recognised.

The Formation of Axonal Sprouts in Organ Culture and Their Relationship to Sprouting in Vivo

1980
Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the phenomena of axonal sprouting from mature neurons in vivo and in organ culture. Within hours of injury to a nerve, axonal sprouts form at the proximal stump. These sprouts are the initial stage of the regenerative process and have many of the characteristics of the growth cones of neurites formed from ...
